NY unemployment Tourism Recovery Funds payment timeline after DocuSign completion?

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive payment from the NY unemployment Tourism Recovery Funds program after submitting the DocuSign form? I completed all my paperwork last week and got the confirmation email saying everything was processed successfully, but haven't seen any money hit my account yet. The website just says 'payments will be disbursed following verification' but doesn't give any timeline. Starting to get a little anxious since I was counting on this for my April rent...

I just went through this whole process in February. After completing the DocuSign, it took exactly 11 business days for my payment to arrive via direct deposit. The system doesn't send any updates between verification and payment, so it just shows up. If you're approaching the 2 week mark with nothing, you might want to call them. Just FYI - they don't count weekends in their processing time.

Thank you!! That's really helpful to know. I'm only at 5 business days so I guess I need to be more patient. Did you get any kind of notification when the payment was sent or did it just appear in your account?

Ugh, seriously? 3 weeks? Did you have to do anything special to get it processed or did it just randomly show up?

Unfortunately, the processing times for Tourism Recovery Fund payments can vary significantly. I work with small businesses and have seen payment timelines ranging from 8 business days to nearly 4 weeks. Several factors affect this: 1. Volume of applications being processed 2. Whether your application required additional verification 3. Banking information accuracy 4. The current funding release schedule If you're approaching 15 business days with no payment, I'd recommend contacting them. The DocuSign confirmation only verifies they received your completed form, not that payment has been authorized.

I appreciate the detailed information. I did double-check my banking info before submitting so hopefully that's not the issue. Is there a direct number to call about this specific program? The main unemployment line never seems to connect me with the right department.

DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!! took me 6 WEEKS to get paid and they never answered my calls or emails the whole time. system is BROKEN!!! by the time i got $ i was already behind on everything. they dont care about our timelines at all.

Oh no, that's terrible! Did you have to keep following up or did it eventually just process? I'm already stressing about how I'll cover next month's expenses if this doesn't come through soon.

I had the same worry when I applied for the Tourism Recovery Funds. Getting through to someone on the phone was next to impossible until I found Claimyr (claimyr.com). They got me connected to an actual person at NYSDOL in about 20 minutes who confirmed my application status and gave me a clear timeline. They have a demo video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE For what it's worth, my payment arrived 12 business days after DocuSign completion. The agent told me they process these in batches twice a month, so your timing might depend on when your application was verified relative to their payment schedule.

Does that Claimyr thing really work? I've been trying to call about my regular benefits for days with no luck, just endless hold times.

It worked for me. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for a week to get through. They basically call repeatedly using their system until they get a line, then connect you. Took about 25 minutes when I used it.

The Tourism Recovery Fund payment took exactly 10 business days for me in 2025. However, I had to call them after day 8 because there was a minor issue with my application they needed to clarify. I actually received payment 2 days after that call. My suggestion is to be proactive and call around day 8-10 if you haven't received anything. Don't just wait indefinitely as sometimes applications get flagged for review but they don't notify you.

This is really good advice, thank you! I'll give it until day 8 and then try to get someone on the phone. Did they tell you what the issue was with your application?

anyone else notice they take out taxes automatically? i was expecting the full amount but they withheld like 15%

Yes, the Tourism Recovery Fund payments are considered taxable income. They withhold federal taxes at 10% and NYS taxes at 5% by default unless you specifically opted out on your application form.

UPDATE: I finally received my payment! It took 13 business days total from when I completed the DocuSign. No notification or anything, it just appeared in my account this morning. For anyone else waiting, it seems like 2-3 weeks is the normal timeframe. Thanks everyone for your help and advice!

Great news! Glad it came through before your rent was due. Pretty much in line with what I experienced too.
