How long does it take to get unemployment after you file with NYS Department of Labor?
Filed my unemployment claim last Thursday and wondering what the typical timeline looks like. My employer laid me off due to budget cuts and I submitted everything online through my.ny.gov. Haven't heard anything back yet except the confirmation email. Getting anxious about when I might see the first payment since rent is due next week. Anyone know how long NYS Department of Labor usually takes to process new claims?

mine took about 10 days total but that was pretty lucky... some people wait way longer if their claim goes into adjudication
