Missed certifying for NYDOL unemployment - How to fix?
Hey everyone, I need some help. I missed certifying for a few weeks of unemployment and I'm not sure what to do. I haven't had any changes in my employment status, but I'm worried about losing those benefits. Has anyone been through this before? What's the best way to handle missed certifications with NYDOL?

I've been there before, it's such a pain! 😫 Your best bet is to call NYDOL directly. They can help you certify for those missed weeks. Just be prepared to wait on hold for a while... their phone lines are always jammed.

•Ugh, tell me about it. I spent 3 hours on hold last week trying to get through. 🙄 There's gotta be a better way!

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through quickly.

Listen up, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. •Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure its legit?

•Idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it for me, but I understand if it's not for everyone.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Yeah, basically they have a system that navigates the phone menu and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone and connects you. Took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to do anything during that time.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your NYDOL account ASAP 2. Look for any messages or alerts about missed certifications 3. If there's an option to certify for past weeks online, do it immediately 4. If not, you'll need to call and speak with an agent 5. Be prepared to explain why you missed the certifications 6. They might ask for documentation, so have any relevant info ready Remember, the sooner you address this, the better. Don't let it drag on or you might lose those benefits entirely. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add that keeping a record of your attempts to contact them (dates, times, etc.) can be helpful if there are any issues later on.

Quick question - how long ago did you miss certifying? If it's been more than a few weeks, you might need to file a new claim. Just a heads up!

Yall ever notice how the NYDOL website always seems to be down for maintenance when you need it most? 🤔 It's like they're trolling us at this point lmao

Hey OP, just wanted to say hang in there. We're all in the same boat, and it sucks, but you'll get through this. Don't be too hard on yourself for missing those certifications. Life happens. ❤️
