Getting random calls from people trying to file New York Unemployment claims on my phone number
My phone keeps getting calls from random people trying to file unemployment claims. They say they were on hold with unemployment and then got forwarded to my number. This is happening multiple times per day. How do I stop this from happening? Is someone using my number for fraud?

Sounds like someone's using Claimyr.com but put in the wrong callback number. Its a service that calls unemployment and forwards the call when they get through. You should contact them at claimyr.com to let them know

•its this service that calls unemployment for you and stays on hold. when they get someone they forward the call. costs like $20 but worth it imo. check out their video here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Block the numbers that keep calling you and definitely report it to unemployment. Could be someone trying to commit fraud using your number

Contact NY unemployment fraud department asap! Here's what you need to do: 1. Document all the calls (times, dates) 2. Get the names of people calling if possible 3. Call the fraud hotline 4. File a report on the unemployment website 5. Consider filing a police report Dont wait on this, identity theft with unemployment is serious business. Also reach out to claimyr.com if the calls mention being forwarded - they can help track down whos using your number.
