Confused about waiting week date on my ny unemployment claim

The waiting week is their way of cheating you out of one week of benefits!!! They make u wait a week before they start paying u and that week you NEVER get paid for. Such a scam. And yes the date in the system is just when they processed it not when u actually waited.

Not to be that guy, but you might want to double-check your effective date of claim. If you filed in July but the waiting week says September, it's possible your claim didn't actually start when you thought it did. This happened to me and I lost out on like 6 weeks of benefits because I didn't realize my claim had the wrong effective date.

the date isn't what matters, what matters is whether ur receiving payments for the weeks AFTER the waiting week. check if those are coming through correctly

From my experience, the date shown for the waiting week is just when they finalized your claim in the system. As long as you're getting payments for the weeks you've claimed since (minus that first week), you should be good.
