If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Wait, I thought unemployment just meant you don't have a job? There's more to it than that? I've been collecting benefits for two months and nobody told me about keeping a job search log...

You should definitely start keeping that log immediately. NYS Department of Labor can request your job search records at any time, and not having them could result in an overpayment determination. Better late than never!

I remember when I first learned what unemployment describes - it's not just being out of work, it's being out of work AND meeting all these specific conditions. My sister got denied because she quit her job voluntarily, even though she was technically unemployed. The NYS Department of Labor is very strict about the 'involuntary' part of the unemployment condition.

If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor to verify her eligibility, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me reach an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. It was way easier than trying to call the regular number and getting disconnected. An agent was able to look at my work history and tell me exactly what I qualified for.

Is that one of those paid services? I'm always skeptical of companies that charge you to access government benefits you should be able to get for free.

I understand the skepticism, but honestly the time I saved was worth it. Spent weeks trying to get through on my own before finding them. They just help you connect with the actual NYS Department of Labor agents, you're still dealing directly with the state.

The whole system is so confusing! I worked full-time for years then became a consultant and thought I'd automatically be covered. Had no idea contractors weren't eligible until I actually needed it. Your sister should definitely file an application even if she's unsure - worst case they'll deny it but at least she'll have an official answer.

Good point about filing anyway. Sometimes people are surprised by their eligibility, especially if they had multiple types of employment. The NYS Department of Labor will review all her work history in their system.

Been there with the ski resort thing! Getting through to NYS Department of Labor on the phone to ask about seasonal eligibility was impossible last year - kept getting busy signals or hung up on. Finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that connected me directly to an agent. There's even a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI. Made it so much easier to get my questions answered about standby status.

Interesting, never heard of that service before. Did they charge you a lot for it?

Worth it to actually talk to someone who could explain the seasonal worker rules clearly instead of sitting on hold for hours.

The NYS unemployment system is such a joke for seasonal workers. They make you jump through hoops proving you're looking for work when everyone knows you're just waiting for your seasonal job to start back up. But yeah technically you can collect if you meet the wage requirements.

same experience here, had to document job searches even though I knew I was going back to the same summer job in May

The unemployment statistics are released every Thursday morning around 8:30 AM, but like others said, this won't speed up your individual claim. You might want to check if you have any outstanding verification documents or if there's an issue with your employer's response to the separation notice.

ugh the whole system is so slow right now, they're probably just backed up from all the claims

Just went through this nightmare trying to reach NYS Department of Labor about a contested claim issue. Couldn't get through on the phone for weeks until someone told me about claimyr.com - they actually got me connected to an agent who explained how the employer tax system works. There's a good video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works for getting through to speak with someone.

Interesting, never heard of that service before. Was it expensive?

Honestly just glad I could finally talk to someone who could explain my situation properly instead of being stuck in phone limbo

bottom line is your coworker gets their money from the state fund and your boss pays more taxes later if they have lots of claims. pretty straightforward once you understand it
