Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. The whole eligibility system is a JOKE. They make it so complicated on purpose to discourage people from applying. I worked for 2 years and they still tried to deny me because of some technicality about my work schedule. Had to fight them for months just to get what I was entitled to.

Been there! The basic definition is that you're unemployed if you're without work or working significantly fewer hours than normal, and it's not because you chose to leave or did something wrong. Check your monetary determination notice - it should show your quarterly wages and calculated weekly benefit rate. If you haven't received it yet, it usually comes within 7-10 days of filing.

Whether wages go up or down the big corporations always find ways to screw over workers. They'll use any excuse to cut jobs and then act like it's because of government policy. The unemployment system gets flooded and then they blame that on the wage increase too. It's all connected to keep working people down.
