Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. ur gonna laugh but try sending them a fax. seriously. the old school methods sometimes work better cuz nobody uses them anymore. my brother got his issue fixed in a week after faxing them a letter about his situation

Probably unpopular opinion, but just fill it out again. Yes, the system is broken. Yes, it's annoying. But fighting it will take 10x longer than just resubmitting the form. Pick your battles. I spent weeks arguing with them about a duplicate request last year before finally giving in and just doing it again. Form took 15 minutes, arguing took weeks.
This is the most practical advice here. The system sucks but sometimes you just gotta play along to get it over with.

If it makes you feel any better, I was in your exact situation last year and they DID eventually resolve it and I got all the money that was fraudulently claimed in my name. But it took 8 months and about 50 phone calls. Keep detailed records of every single person you talk to, date, time, what they told you. This documentation will help if you need to escalate.
Have u tried reaching out on Twitter? Sounds weird but @NYSLabor sometimes responds faster there than through official channels. Just don't post any personal info publicly - use DMs.

u need to hop on this FAST. ny unemployment fraud is outta control rn. sooo many people getting hit with this. def contact the ftc at identitytheft.gov to start a case file - they can help with the steps
Yoooo Im dealing with same thing! Get the Unemployment fraud paperwork in ASAP - print everything, take screenshots of all correspondence. Also - use claimyr.com to get through to an agent on the phone. I waited for hours trying to call myself, paid for their service and got through in like 20 min. Worth every penny to get my case moving.

KEEP CALLING EVERY DAY!!!!! srsly. i know its hard but i finally got through after 57 calls in one day. the person who finally helped me said my claim had just been sitting there with no activity for weeks. they pushed it through and i got paid the next day.

•Call right when they open (8:30am), press 1 for English then 1 for existing claim issues, then 1 again. If you get the "we're experiencing high call volume" message, hang up and try again. It's a numbers game.

Check if your company is actually contesting your unemployment. My claim was stuck for weeks, and when I finally got through, turns out my employer never responded to NYSDOL's inquiry. The agent was able to push it through once I explained it had been X weeks.
