Has anyone tried contacting their state representative about this? I emailed mine last week and surprisingly got a response. They said they'd look into it and actually followed up asking for my info to check my specific case.
This is actually really good advice. State reps can often cut through red tape faster than we can on our own.
Yeah it was way more helpful than I expected! They have contacts at these agencies that can actually get answers.
anyone else get a letter saying they reviewed your case but then no money? I got a letter 3 weeks ago saying they completed their review of my account for the unemployment exclusion but still no deposit...
The real issue isnt knowing if ur 2019 taxes were received, its that they NEVER TELL YOU ANYTHING. I've been dealing with ny unemployment since October and communication is nonexistent. You have to chase them for every single update.
honestly? u need to get on the phone with them. no other way around it. i know it sux but u gotta keep calling. i used claimyr.com after weeks of trying to get thru and it was worth every penny to finally get my claim sorted.
NY unemployment is alive and well my friend! Just make sure u answer all the questions honestly and keep detailed records of your job search. They sometimes do random audits where they ask for proof that you've been looking for work.
Bruh unemployment has been around since forever. It's not going anywhere. Go claim ur money!! 💰
I used to work at unemployment (not in NY but similar system). The $0 wage issue is usually because the computer pulls from the quarterly wage report database. If your employer messed up the reporting or the system glitched during import, your wages vanish. An actual human needs to manually override it. Regular agents can't do this - only hearing officers or claims specialists have the access.
typical government efficiency 🤡

•Try calling them ASAP to see if you can get them back. I had luck getting through with claimyr.com when I had a similar panic moment

W2s only worked for me but if you're really anxious about it you could just throw in a couple pay stubs from december or sumthin. The whole process sucks but eventually they sort it out.
