Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. this happened to me and i lost my benefits for 2 months because i didn't respond fast enough. don't make my mistake. send the docs ASAP even if you're not sure which ones they need. they'll reject what they don't want.

Has anyone actually gotten through to a human being on the phone to ask about this? I've been trying to call NY unemployment for 3 weeks and can't get past the automated system. It's driving me insane.
Try calling at exactly 7:30am when they open. That's the only way I've ever gotten through.
I got through once by calling the fraud department and then asking to be transferred to regular claims. Took 3 hours on hold but it worked.

they're lying to you man. nobody is going to 'contact you'. you have to keep calling and bothering them until they fix it.
harsh but true. the squeaky wheel gets the oil with these government agencies
NY DOL is the worst. Been dealing with them since 2022 and it never gets better. Their favorite line is 'wait to be contacted' which is code for 'we're putting your case at the bottom of the pile and hoping you forget about it'.
Facts. I waited 4 months once because I believed them when they said they'd contact me. Never again.

I got my claim fixed by literally showing up in person at a DOL office. They say not to do this but I was desperate. The security guard tried to turn me away but I (politely) refused to leave until someone helped me. Got my issue resolved same day after months of waiting on the phone.
This works sometimes but is super risky - some offices will help, others will call security on you. Depends which location and who's working that day.

yo I tried calling 300+ times over two weeks and nothing. Then used claimyr.com and got connected to a real person in like 45 mins. talking to an agent got my $ unlocked so fast. they just call and wait on hold for you then connect when someone answers.
i mean when somethng actually works in this broken system ppl tend to share it 🤷♂️ was just tryna help
it's legit - they're just a hold service. i was skeptical too but at some point you get desperate enough to try anything
Honestly the waiting week credit thing is usually just a code for "theres some issue with your claim we need to review manually" - could be identity verification, employer dispute, previous overpayment, etc. The system just uses generic error messages. Definitely need to talk to a human to sort it out.

4 weeks is sadly the new "normal" for first time claims... but i wouldn't wait longer than that. keep certifying every week but also try to get someone on the phone to make sure there isn't a flag on your account holding things up.

Everyone saying "it's normal" is part of the problem. IT'S NOT NORMAL! It's completely unacceptable that NY unemployment makes people wait 4-8 weeks for benefits they need NOW. Contact your state representatives and complain. The system only changes when enough people raise hell about it.
