5 days no back pay from DOL - causing financial strain. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my back pay. It's been 5 days since I was supposed to receive it, and the delay is really causing me some financial strain. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to handle this situation when I finally get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been waiting on back pay for over two weeks now. It's ridiculous how long they make us wait. Have you tried calling them? I've been on hold for hours with no luck.

ā¢Two weeks?! That's insane. I thought my 5-day wait was bad. How are you managing?

ā¢Barely scraping by tbh. Had to borrow money from family just to cover rent. This system is so broken š¤

ā¢Have either of you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. Got my issue resolved in one call.

ā¢Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

ā¢Sure! You choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and they start calling. When an agent picks up, they connect the call to your phone. No guarantee, but it worked for me and saved me a ton of time.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with back pay issues: ā¢ Document everything: Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions ā¢ Be persistent: Call daily if you have to ā¢ Know your rights: Familiarize yourself with the laws regarding timely payment ā¢ Escalate if necessary: Ask to speak with a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere ā¢ Consider contacting your local representative: They can sometimes intervene on your behalf Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. šŖ

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Have you had success with contacting a local rep?

ā¢Yes, actually! My state senator's office was surprisingly helpful. They have staff dedicated to these issues. Def worth a shot if you hit a wall with the agency.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there's additional info required that they don't tell you about unless you log in.

Protip: call exactly at 7:59 AM when they open. You might get lucky and get through before the queue fills up. Worked for me last month!
