Why did my cycle code change from 05 to 02? What does this mean for my refund?
I've always been cycle 05 for years. Just checked my transcripts and now I'm showing cycle 02. Anyone know what this means? Will this delay my refund? I'm on PATH if that matters.

The cycle code change from 05 to 02 typically indicates your return is being processed in a different processing center. This isn't necessarily bad news. PATH returns are usually released starting mid-February, regardless of cycle code. Keep monitoring your transcripts for updates.

•Thanks for explaining! Do you know if this means I'll get my refund faster or slower? ðŸ˜

•It really doesn't impact timing. PATH holds are PATH holds, regardless of cycle code.

Hey, instead of trying to decode these cycle numbers yourself, you should try taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on and when to expect your refund. Its only $1 and way better than playing detective with these codes lol. https://taxr.ai
