Cycle code changed from 05 to 02 - What does this mean for my refund?
Just checked my transcript and noticed my cycle code changed from 05 to 02. Anyone know if this is good news? The as of date updated too but im confused about what this means for my refund timeline.

Tax professional here - a cycle code change from 05 to 02 typically indicates your return has moved to a different processing department. The 05 cycle is for weekly processing while 02 is daily. This usually means they're actively working on your return, but it's not necessarily good or bad news - just movement in the system.

•ty for explaining! so there's no way to know if this means I'm getting closer to my refund? 😩

•Unfortunately no guaranteed timeline, but movement is usually better than no movement!

I've been using taxr.ai to track all these transcript changes. It's literally only $1 and it tells you exactly what these code changes mean for YOUR specific situation. Way better than playing detective with these codes ourselves lol https://taxr.ai

The as of date dont mean anything tbh. its just a system update date. I've seen mine change like 5 times with no movement on my refund smh
