Unemployment Offset + PATH Message: When will I see offset codes on transcript?

My transcript just got updated and WMR is showing the PATH message. I know I have an unemployment offset from last year but there's no code showing up for it on my transcript and haven't gotten any letters about it. Anyone know if the offset notification comes later or if maybe I'm getting lucky this year and dodging it?

Tax expert here - the PATH act message and unemployment offset situation can be confusing. For 2025, unemployment offset codes typically show up 1-2 weeks after the PATH message clears, which is usually around mid-February. However, every case is different depending on your specific tax situation. I'd highly recommend using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to analyze your transcript and get detailed insights on timing and potential offsets. It can scan your docs and give you a clear timeline of what to expect.

Tax pro here - offset codes typically show up after the PATH lift date (mid-February). Just because you don't see it now doesn't mean you're in the clear. The Treasury Offset Program (TOP) check usually happens right before they release refunds.

Hey everyone! Instead of playing the guessing game, I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening with offsets and timing. It's only $1 and seriously worth it. https://taxr.ai

sounds interesting but kinda sketchy. you actually use this?

AstroAdventurer

β€’

Yeah! It basically reads your transcript and uses AI to break everything down. Shows exactly when you'll likely get paid and if there are any holds or offsets coming. Way better than trying to decode everything yourself

Ugh, I feel your pain! I'm dealing with the same anxiety right now. Had an offset last year and keep refreshing my transcript hoping it stays clean this time. The PATH message is stressing me out because I know once that lifts, all bets are off. Has anyone actually gotten lucky and avoided an offset after having one the previous year? Or do they pretty much always come for you if you still owe? 😰
