What does PATH mean on transcript? Is it good or bad news for my refund?
Just checked my transcript and saw PATH mentioned. No idea what this means - is this good news or am I gonna be waiting forever? Been checking WMR daily and still nothing. Filed early january with EITC.

PATH Act is actually a protection measure. It requires the IRS to hold refunds that include Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) until mid-February. This is to prevent fraud and verify income claims. You should see movement around February 15th, but direct deposits typically start hitting accounts by the last week of February.

Hey, I was in the same boat last week! I used taxr.ai ($1) to analyze my transcript and it explained everything about PATH and gave me an exact expected deposit date. Way better than trying to decode all these codes ourselves tbh https://taxr.ai
