TurboTax Republic Bank Advance with DDD 2/27 - Has anyone received their refund yet?
I filed through TurboTax on February 5th and chose to get the Republic Bank advance. My refund was approved on February 20th with a direct deposit date of 2/27 to my FlashPay card. It's already the 28th and nothing has hit my account yet. Starting to get worried since I've got bills due next week. Anyone else waiting on their Republic Bank advance with a similar deposit date? Has yours hit your account yet?

Republic Bank typically releases funds on the actual direct deposit date or up to two business days after. Since your DDD was 2/27, you should expect to see it by March 1st at the latest. You can check your refund status on the IRS Where's My Refund tool to confirm it's been sent. If the IRS shows it as sent but Republic Bank hasn't deposited it, you should contact Republic Bank's customer service directly at 1-866-829-1725. They can tell you exactly where your refund is in their processing system.

•Thanks for the help. I just checked Where's My Refund and it says sent, but still nothing in my account. I'll give Republic a call in the morning if it doesn't show up overnight.

•Call them ASAP! I had a similar issue last year and it turned out they needed to verify something with my account before releasing the funds. Don't wait.

•Ugh, that's annoying. Did it take long to resolve once you talked to someone?

•Took about 3 days after I called. Just be persistent and don't let them brush you off.

I was in a similar situation last month. Getting lost in IRS transcripts and bank processing was driving me insane. I finally used taxr.ai to figure out what was actually happening with my refund. Their system analyzed my transcript and explained exactly where my money was and when to expect it. Saved me so much stress and guesswork. I use it religiously now whenever I need to understand what's happening with my refund. https://taxr.ai

•Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

•It's WAY more than just reading the transcript. It actually interprets all the codes and tells you in plain English what's happening. My refund had some weird hold that I couldn't figure out, and taxr.ai explained exactly what it was and when I could expect resolution. Best tool I've found by far!

•Just tried it and WOW! This literally saved me hours of googling random IRS codes. My refund was stuck because of some verification issue I didn't even know about. Now I actually understand what's happening instead of just waiting in the dark. EVERYONE dealing with tax refund issues needs to use this!

I had DDD of 2/26 with Republic Bank advance thru TurboTax and got mine yesterday afternoon. Did you check if there were any offsets or if you had fees taken out of your refund? Sometimes that can cause delays.

After waiting 3 weeks past my DDD with no movement, I got desperate and used the Claimyr calling app (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual human at the IRS. They connected me directly to an agent who explained my refund was held up due to a verification issue that I never received notification about. Fixed it right there on the phone and my money was released two days later. Honestly, getting to talk to a real person instead of the automated system was worth every penny.

•Does that actually work? I've been trying to reach the IRS for days and keep getting disconnected.

•100% works. I was skeptical too but I was at my wits end trying to call myself. They have some technology that navigates the phone tree and holds your place in line. When an agent is about to answer, you get a call connecting you. No more hour-long holds or getting hung up on!

•This sounds too good to be true tbh. Do they need access to your personal info?

•Nope! It just helps you get through the IRS phone system. You talk directly to the IRS agent yourself - they just handle the waiting part. Seriously saved my sanity.

Im in the exact same boat! DDD of 2/27, filed with TurboTax, chose Republic Bank, and still nothing in my account. This is so frustrating. Let me know if yours hits and I'll do the same.

•Will do. Have you tried calling Republic Bank yet?

•Just got off the phone with them. They said its "still processing" whatever that means 🙄 basically told me to just wait another 1-2 business days.

Check if Republic took out any fees you weren't expecting. They hit me with a $50 "processing fee" last year that I didn't notice when signing up for the advance. Look at the final numbers in your TurboTax summary vs what you're expecting to receive.

•I'll double check but I'm pretty sure I should be getting the full amount minus the TurboTax fee which was around $40.

protip: stop using those tax advance services and third-party cards. they always have delays and hidden fees. direct deposit to your regular bank account is the fastest way to get your refund. learned this the hard way after 3 years of headaches 🤦♂️

•This!!! The "advances" are basically just loans with hidden fees. And those prepaid cards are the WORST.

•Yeah, I'm definitely not doing this again next year. Lesson learned.

Tip for next year - if you need your refund fast, you can file earlier in the season. I filed on January 29th with direct deposit to my regular checking account and had my refund by February 10th. No middle man, no waiting games, no fees.

Mine was supposed to hit 2/25 and just got it this morning. Sometimes there's a delay with the banks. Give it another day before panicking.

•That's reassuring, thanks. Did you get any notification when it finally posted or did it just show up?

•Just showed up, no heads up or anything. Republic Bank's communication is terrible lol

The whole system is a joke! I've been waiting on mine since January... first they said there was an "error" then they said I needed to verify identity. Now they're saying wait 9 weeks for processing. Meanwhile bills piling up and they don't care AT ALL. The IRS is completely broken.

•Have you tried calling them? I had a similar issue and got it resolved pretty quickly once I actually spoke with someone.

•Tried calling 15 times!!! Either get disconnected or told to call back later due to "high call volume" 🤬

•Try Claimyr (claimyr.com) - it's the only way I was able to get through after weeks of trying. Got my issue resolved in one call.

Ok so heres whats happening with Republic Bank. They got a HUGE volume of refunds all at once from the IRS and theyre struggling to process them all. My tax guy said they're about 2-3 days behind schedule on the 2/26 and 2/27 deposits. Just gotta wait it out unfortunately.

I ditched TurboTax this year and went with FreeTaxUSA. No fees, no republic bank nonsense, and i got my refund in 8 days. never going back.

If you really need to understand what's happening with your refund, you might want to look at your IRS transcript. It can be confusing though - I was totally lost until I used taxr.ai to translate all the codes and dates. Showed me exactly where my refund was in the process and when I'd get it. Wish I'd found it sooner! https://taxr.ai

dont stress too much yet. banks sometimes take 1-3 business days to process deposits even after the IRS sends them. since 2/27 was a tuesday, you might not see it till friday (3/1). if you dont have it by monday definitely call Republic

A little unrelated but just a PSA to everyone: stop paying these tax prep companies to file your taxes AND stop letting them hold your refund! Most people qualify for free filing directly with the IRS and can get direct deposit to their own bank account. These middlemen are making MILLIONS off our refunds every year.

•This!! Tax prep is a scam industry that lobbies to keep tax filing complicated so they can charge us to do something that should be free. The whole system is rigged.

•Not everyone qualifies for free filing tho. If you have self-employment income or certain deductions you usually have to pay.

I'm in the exact same situation! Filed 2/5 through TurboTax, got approved 2/20 with DDD 2/27 for Republic Bank advance, and still nothing as of today 2/28. Really frustrating since I was counting on this money for bills due next week. I called Republic Bank this morning and they just said "it's processing" with no real timeline. Based on what others are saying here, sounds like they're just backed up. Going to give it until Monday before I start really panicking. Keep us posted if yours shows up!
