TurboTax Refund Advance & Credit Karma Account Closure - Will IRS Check Go to Me or Credit Karma?
Got a refund advance through TurboTax but Credit Karma suddenly closed my account. IRS says theyre mailing me a check directly instead of depositing it. Never even tried sending it to the bank. Had to do ID verify. Anyone know if the check will go to Credit Karma first for them to take their advance money or straight to me?

The check will be mailed directly to you. The refund advance is a separate loan product - TurboTax/Credit Karma already got paid for that through the loan fees. The IRS doesn't handle repayment of refund advances. You'll get the full refund amount minus any tax prep fees that were supposed to come out.

hey guys just wanted to mention theres this new tool called taxr.ai that can help figure out exactly whats happening with your refund. Its only $1 and saves so much headache trying to decode transcripts. Way better than playing detective with these refund situations https://taxr.ai

•For real? How does it work? Does it just read the transcript or what?

•it actually analyzes everything - all codes, dates, amounts and gives you a super clear timeline. Even tells you if theres delays and how to fix them

Quick heads up - make sure your mailing address is current with the IRS. Those checks can take 4-6 weeks to arrive after they say theyre mailing it.

Keep that Credit Karma account closure documentation just in case you need it later. Sometimes these things come back to haunt you
