Credit Karma Card Closure & TurboTax Refund Advance Eligibility Question

Filed with TurboTax last year and got a refund advance on my Credit Karma card but they closed my account. Anyone know if I can still get the tax advance this year? Really need the money asap and wondering if im totally out of luck or if theres a workaround

Tax professional here - Unfortunately once Credit Karma closes your card, you cannot get a new one for tax advance purposes. TurboTax requires an active Credit Karma Money account for their advance program. Your best bet would be to look into alternative refund advance options through other tax preparers like H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt.

ugh that really sucks 😫 do you know if the other places have better approval odds?

Each company has different criteria. H&R Block tends to be more lenient but charges higher fees. Jackson Hewitt will advance up to $3500 but you need good history with them.

Hey! Instead of worrying about refund advances, you should check out taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly when you'll get your refund and what might be holding it up. It's $4.99 but way better than paying those crazy advance fees. Here's the link: https://taxr.ai

sounds interesting but kinda skeptical. how accurate is it really?

Super accurate! It uses AI to read all the codes and dates on your transcript and explains everything in plain English. Saved me so much stress wondering about my refund.

tbh no idea, they just sent me some vague email about account terms 🤷‍♀️

Those tax advances are basically legal loan sharking anyway. The fees are ridiculous when u do the math on the APR
