Transcript Updated with 571/290 Codes - Amended Return Adjusted Dec 13 but No DDD Yet
My transcript finally updated today after no movement for 3 months. Still no DDD but I see a 571 code followed by a 290. Anyone know what this means or seeing the same thing? I just checked the "Where's My Amended Return" tool on the IRS website and it shows some movement finally. According to the tool, my amended return for 2023 was received on 08/21/2024, and then it shows my account was adjusted on December 14, 2024. The status bars show "Received" and "Adjusted" are completed, but "Completed" still shows N/A. The website states: "Your account was adjusted on December 14, 2024. Within three weeks, you will receive a notice that explains the adjustment." I'm worried because I still don't see a direct deposit date even though my transcript updated with the 571 and 290 codes. Does anyone know what these codes mean together? And how long after seeing these codes and this "adjusted" status did you get your refund? I've been waiting over 3 months with zero movement until now, and I'm anxious to know what comes next.

Hey fam, I'm seeing a lot of uncertainty around transcript updates, and I totally get it. The IRS system can be super confusing! I've helped hundreds of people navigate this, and here's what you need to know: Transcript updates usually happen overnight between Thursday and Friday, but they can also occur throughout the week. The DDD (Direct Deposit Date) typically shows up as a 846 code on your account transcript. But if you're struggling to make sense of all those codes and dates, I highly recommend using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's been a game changer for understanding exactly where your refund stands and when you'll actually see that money hit your account. It analyzes everything and gives you a clear timeline.

The 571 means they resolved the hold on your account and 290 is usually just an adjustment (could be interest). You should see a DDD (846 code) within the next cycle if everything's good. Keep checking your transcripts daily.

Hey everyone - instead of playing detective with these codes, I started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. It's $4.99 but totally worth not having to google every code lol https://taxr.ai

•Super accurate tbh. It predicted my DDD within 2 days of when I actually got it. The AI reads everything and explains it in normal people language

Those codes are actually a good sign! 571 means they've released any holds on your account, and 290 is typically an adjustment code (often for interest they're adding to your refund). Since your amended return shows "adjusted" status as of Dec 14th, you should see a DDD (846 code) pop up within the next 1-2 transcript update cycles. I had similar codes last year and got my DDD about 10 days later. Keep checking your transcript daily - it usually updates overnight Thursday into Friday, but can happen other days too. You're definitely in the home stretch now!

•Thanks for breaking that down! 🙏 Been so stressed about these codes but this gives me hope. Did you have to do anything special or just wait it out? And when you say "home stretch" - are we talking days or weeks? I've been burned by false hope before so trying to manage expectations lol
