SDI Online Application: Identity Verification Fail - Need Rep ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My husband and I are trying to apply for disability benefits online, but we're running into some issues. I just had major surgery yesterday, and he's my caretaker. We're trying to set him up for disability, but the system isn't verifying his identity correctly. Has anyone else dealt with this? We really need to speak to a representative to figure out what's causing the problem and how we can move forward with the application. Any advice or experiences would be super helpful!

Ugh, I feel your pain! 😫 I went through something similar last year. The online system can be a real nightmare sometimes. Have you tried calling their helpline? It might take a while to get through, but speaking to a real person can often solve these issues faster.

•Thanks for the suggestion! We've been trying to call, but the wait times are insane. It's so frustrating when you need help urgently.

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through!

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of waiting on hold.

•I get the skepticism, but it's a real service. They just automate the hold process. You can check their website for more info.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your identification documents (Social Security cards, driver's licenses, passports) 2. Write down any reference numbers or info from previous correspondence 3. When you finally get through to an agent, clearly explain the identity verification issue 4. Ask specifically what information isn't matching in their system 5. Request step-by-step guidance on how to correct the issue and complete the application Stay persistent and don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get there. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd also recommend keeping a log of all your calls and who you speak to. It can help if you need to escalate the issue later.

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣🤣🤣 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser can help with online application issues.

The whole system is broken af. I've been trying to get my benefits sorted for MONTHS. It's like they don't want us to get help. 🤬

•It's not that they don't want to help, they're just understaffed and overworked. Still sucks tho

Hey OP, sorry youre going through this. Quick question - did you try applying during off-peak hours? Sometimes the system works better late at night or early morning when there's less traffic.

Oof, identity verification issues are the worst. Had the same problem last year. Turns out there was a typo in my SSN on file. Double-check all your info is correct, even the stuff you think is fine!

Not to be that guy, but have you considered reaching out to your local congressperson's office? They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with federal benefit issues. Might be worth a shot if you keep hitting walls.

•I hadn't even thought of that! That's a great suggestion, thank you. We'll definitely look into it if we can't resolve this soon.
