PSA: 'Still being processed' status doesn't mean ID verification needed - Stop panicking!
Getting tired of seeing everyone freaking out about the 'still being processed' message. Just wanted to clear something up - when you see this message it literally just means they're working on it. It does NOT automatically mean you need to verify your identity or that something is wrong. The IRS is just slow af this year and this is their default message while they work through the backlog.

This is absolutely correct. That message is the standard processing notification. The IRS uses different messaging when identity verification is needed - you'd see specific instructions to verify on ID.me or get a letter in the mail with next steps. Don't assume the worst when you see this status.
