Need IRS verification phone number - can't verify online, notice not received yet
I have a notice on my account but haven't received the letter yet. Can't verify online without the notice number and the system won't even show me the notice online. Looking for a phone number to call and verify over the phone instead.

The IRS verification line is 800-830-5084. Call between 7am and 7pm local time. Average wait is 45-90 mins so call early. When you get through, explain you haven't received the notice yet and they can verify you with other info like SSN, DOB, and previous tax return details.
