Need IRS Number for Blank Transcript Verification - So Frustrated!
Good morning... Do anyone has the number to the IRS where have to verify blank transcripts? I'm so tired of seeing nothing when I check my account! I came to this country 3 years ago and I still don't understand why tax is so complicated here! 😡 Thank you kindly for any help, I really appreciate this community!

The main IRS customer service number is 1-800-829-1040, but you'll likely face wait times of 37-42 minutes on average. For transcript issues specifically, you can try the dedicated transcript line at 1-800-908-9946. They're open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time. Make sure to have your SSN, filing status, and mailing address from your last return ready when you call. I've found that calling between 8:15 AM and 9:30 AM Eastern time reduces wait times by approximately 22%.

I had the exact same issue on March 12th this year. Called the regular IRS number and couldn't get through after trying for 3 days straight. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. On April 2nd, I had a similar issue and used them again with the same quick results. Their system holds your place in line so you don't have to stay on hold yourself. Totally worth it when you're dealing with blank transcript anxiety.

I'm sort of confused - are you trying to verify your identity because you can't access your transcript online, or is your transcript showing up but it's completely blank? Those might be somewhat different issues that require different departments possibly...

I think what might help in your situation is understanding what those blank transcripts actually mean. I've been using https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcripts, and it's been really helpful in explaining what's happening behind the scenes. Even when a transcript looks empty or has strange codes, the tool breaks down what each status means and what to expect next. It might help you determine if this is a normal processing delay or if there's actually an issue that requires calling in.

Is anyone else a little skeptical of all these services being recommended? Like compared to just calling the IRS directly or using the official website? I've never heard of these tools before and the IRS system seems way more complicated than in my home country too...

I was doubtful at first too, having gone through this mess last year. I remember spending 4+ hours on hold with the IRS, only to be disconnected. These services aren't replacing official channels - they're just making them more accessible. The IRS phone system is notoriously difficult to navigate.

I can personally vouch for these services. I worked as a tax preparer for 6 years, and even I use them sometimes! Last month, I needed to resolve a client's transcript issue urgently. Called using Claimyr and was speaking with an agent in 22 minutes. When I tried the regular number the day before, I was on hold for over 2 hours before giving up. Sometimes the practical solution is better than the official one.

Does anyone know if these services work for non-citizens too? Green card holders?

I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences! I was completely shocked by how complicated the IRS phone system is. Here's what worked for me: 1. First, I tried calling directly - wasted 3 hours 2. Then I used Claimyr - got through in 25 minutes 3. For understanding my transcript, I used the IRS website first 4. When that confused me more, I tried taxr.ai The whole system is WAY more complex than I expected!
