How to access/find IRS transcript? Complete newbie here
Never had to deal with transcripts before and feeling lost. Need help finding out if I even have one and where to look for it. Google hasn't been much help and the IRS website is confusing af.

You can get your transcript online at IRS.gov - just go to 'Get Transcript Online.' You'll need to create an account first. Make sure you have your SSN, email, phone for verification, and either a credit card, mortgage, or auto loan account number for ID verification. Everyone who's filed taxes has a transcript, it's basically your tax history record.

u can also call irs and request them to mail it but good luck getting thru lol been on hold for 2hrs before 🤮

Make sure u get the right type! There's like 4 different transcript types - wage/income, tax return, tax account, and record of account.

Heads up - if u just filed recently ur transcript might not be available right away. Takes a few weeks to update in the system
