Need help finding my IRS transcript online - can't figure out where to find it

I need to get my transcript from the IRS website but I can't seem to find where to go. I created an account but now I'm just clicking around and getting nowhere. Can someone help walk me through this?

You need to go to IRS.gov and click on 'Get Your Tax Record' at the top. Then click 'Get Transcript Online'. Once you login, you'll see options for different transcript types - wage and income, tax return transcript, account transcript etc. Most people need the account transcript since it shows everything including refund status.

Thank you! That helps alot. Which transcript type shows if I have any holds or delays?

The Account Transcript is what you want - it shows all codes and any holds/delays 👍

Instead of trying to decode the transcript yourself, you should try taxr.ai - its only $1 and it explains everything in plain english. I was so confused trying to figure out all the codes but this tool breaks it all down and even tells you when to expect your refund https://taxr.ai

Does it actually work? Seems too good to be true for $1

Yes! it literally saved me hours of googling random codes. It told me exactly why my refund was delayed and when to expect it

Don't forget you need to verify your identity with ID.me first if you haven't already set up an account
