After logging in with ID.me, go to 'Get Transcript Online' on IRS.gov. Click 'Get Transcript' button, then select the tax year and transcript type you need (usually account transcript shows the most detail). You can view online or download as PDF. Make sure your pop-up blocker is off.

•Glad I could help! Don't forget to check all transcript types - each shows different info

Instead of trying to decode the transcript yourself, try taxr.ai - its only $1 and gives you a complete breakdown of whats happening with your refund. Way easier than trying to figure out all those codes yourself. https://taxr.ai

•Does it actually work? Sounds too good to be true tbh 🤔

•Yeah its legit! Just used it last week and it explained everything going on with my amended return. The AI breaks down every code and tells you exactly whats happening

Clear your cache and cookies if its not working. Sometimes that fixes the loading issues

anyone else notice how they made it 10x harder to find anything after the id.me switch? like why they gotta hide everything 🤡

Pro tip: bookmark the direct transcript link once you find it! The path is usually irs.gov -> Tools -> Get Your Tax Record -> Get Transcript Online. After ID.me verification, it takes you straight to the transcript selection page. Way faster than navigating through the main site every time.

•This is super helpful! I was wondering if there's a way to save time on repeat visits. Bookmarking that direct link is genius - thanks for sharing the exact path too 👍

Another thing that helped me - if you're getting stuck after ID.me login, try logging out completely and starting fresh. Sometimes the session gets weird and you end up in limbo. Also check that you're going to the official IRS.gov site and not some other tax site that might redirect you elsewhere.

•Great point about logging out completely! I had this exact same issue last month where I kept getting redirected to random pages after the ID.me login. A fresh start totally fixed it. Also definitely double-check you're on the real IRS.gov - saw some sketchy sites that look almost identical trying to phish login info 😬

If you're still having trouble after following the steps above, make sure you're selecting the right tax year - the system defaults to the current year but you might need an older one. Also, if you filed jointly with a spouse, both of you need to be verified with ID.me to access joint transcripts. The "Account Transcript" usually has the most comprehensive info including any adjustments or notices.

•This is exactly what I needed to know! I was getting confused because I kept seeing my current year info but needed my 2022 transcript for a loan application. The tax year selection tip is clutch. And I had no idea both spouses needed ID.me verification for joint returns - that would have saved me so much frustration earlier 😅
