How to get IRS transcript? Need help accessing my tax records
Getting really frustrated trying to get my IRS transcript. I've tried going to irs.gov but keep getting errors. Anyone know the easiest way to get my hands on my transcript? Need it for a mortgage application and running out of time.

You have three options: 1) Create an ID.me account and get it online at IRS.gov (fastest way), 2) Call IRS at 800-908-9946 to request by mail (takes 5-10 business days), or 3) Submit Form 4506-T by mail (takes about 2 weeks). For online access, you'll need your SSN, birthdate, filing status, mailing address from latest tax return, and a mobile phone for verification.

If you're still having trouble with ID.me verification, try calling the IRS transcript line at 800-908-9946 instead. Yes it takes 5-10 business days by mail but at least you'll have a definite timeline. I was in a similar crunch for my mortgage and ended up going this route when the online kept failing. Make sure you have your SSN, DOB, and prior year AGI ready when you call. They can also sometimes expedite if you explain it's for a mortgage closing.
