IRS verified identity but getting conflicting info about processing times - accepted 3/7, transcript N/A

Just called IRS and went through identity verification questions (mothers maiden name, dad's name, 2021 W2 info). Agent put me on multiple holds then said I'm in processing, wait 120 days, blamed Covid backlog. Yesterday different agent said I was in errors dept with 10 week wait. WMR shows still processing, transcript N/A, accepted 3/7. Anyone know what's actually going on?

Based on what you're describing, you're likely in the verification stage of processing. The identity questions are standard procedure, but don't constitute full verification. The conflicting timeframes (120 days vs 10 weeks) suggest you're probably in the errors resolution department, which is handling both verification and processing issues. Your transcript showing N/A typically means your return hasn't completed initial processing yet.

So frustrating... any idea how long this usually takes? 🤔

Honestly, timeframes are all over the place rn. I've seen anywhere from 2-16 weeks for error resolution cases.

Hey, I know its super frustrating getting different answers. I was in the same boat until I found taxr.ai - its this tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect your refund. Only costs $1 and saved me hours of stress. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

I filed 2/15 and FINALLY got my refund yesterday. Had same exact situation - different answers every time I called. Just hang in there!

Pro tip: call early morning right when they open. You get the experienced agents who actually know whats up instead of the new hires who just read scripts
