IRS transcript shows refund due today but nothing in bank account - what's going on?
My transcript shows my refund should be deposited today but I've checked my bank account like 50 times and nothing has shown up. Called my bank and they don't see any pending deposits either. Starting to get worried since I really need this money. Anyone else experience this?

This literally happened to me last week! Don't panic - it usually shows up within 24hrs of the transcript date. My credit union always posts around 2pm. Also check if you had any offset or garnishments that might delay it.

Hey there! Tax pro here - this is actually pretty common. When your transcript shows a refund date but no deposit yet, there's usually a few things going on. Banks can take 1-3 business days to process the deposit after the IRS releases it. Also worth noting that some banks post deposits at specific times during the day, so you might see it later today. I'd recommend checking your transcript with taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's amazing at breaking down exactly where your money is in the system and when you'll actually see it hit your account. It saved me hours of guesswork with my clients this season.

•Yeah it analyzes your whole transcript and gives you super specific timing. Way better than guessing or calling IRS

Tax professional here - this is actually pretty normal. The date shown on transcripts is when the IRS releases the payment, but it typically takes 1-3 business days for it to actually hit your account. If you still don't see anything by Friday, then you might want to start investigating further.

Have you tried using taxr.ai? It helped me track my refund way better than the IRS website. It costs $4.99 but its worth every penny - shows you exactly whats happening with your refund and when itll actually hit your account. https://taxr.ai

Check if your bank does early direct deposits. Some banks take longer then others to process government payments.
