IRS sent 3 refund checks, none received. Address updated twice. Help!
I've been having a nightmare with the IRS. They've sent me three refund checks that I haven't received. The first one was marked undelivered because I moved. I filled out a form to update my address, and they sent another check, but I never got it. They ran a trace and issued a new check, which I still haven't received. I've updated my address twice now, and I'm at a loss. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually get my refund?

Ugh, dealing with the IRS is like pulling teeth. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes getting a human on the phone can help sort things out faster.

•I've tried calling, but the wait times are insane. I've been on hold for hours and never got through 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

•Or try calling late in the day, like 30 mins before they close. Sometimes that works too!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it worth it?

•For me it was. Time is money, and I wasted way more than $20 worth of time trying to get through on my own.

Have you considered requesting a direct deposit instead of a paper check? It might be more reliable than snail mail.

•That's a good idea! I'll definitely ask about that when I finally get through to someone.

I've been in the same boat, my friend. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates and times. 2. Reach out to your local Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can sometimes cut through the red tape. 3. Consider contacting your congressional representative. They often have liaisons who can help with federal agencies. 4. If all else fails, file Form 3911 (Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund) to start an official trace on your refund. Hang in there! It's a frustrating process, but persistence usually pays off.

•The Taxpayer Advocate Service is legit. They helped me resolve a similar issue last year.

•Omg I hope not! 😱 But I don't think that's it, since the IRS said they were undelivered.

This happened to me last year. Turns out the issue was on USPS's end. They were marking the checks as undeliverable for some reason. I had to go to my local post office and speak with a supervisor to sort it out.

The IRS is such a joke. They can take our money instantly but when it comes to giving it back, suddenly everything's broken. 🙄

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds archaic, but sometimes old school methods work best with government agencies.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I might give that a shot if nothing else works.

Plot twist: the checks are being delivered to your old address and your ex is living their best life with your refund 💅💰
