IRS Status Issues: No Notices, Haven't Checked Transcript - What Should I Do Next?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my IRS status and I'm not sure what to do. I haven't received any notices or letters from them recently, and I haven't checked my tax transcript either. I'm thinking about calling them to get some answers, but I'm not sure where to start. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice on what I should do next?

First thing you should do is check your IRS tax transcript online. It's usually the quickest way to get updates on your status. Have you tried that yet?

No, I haven't. How do I access my tax transcript online?

It's pretty easy! Just go to the IRS website and look for the 'Get Transcript' option. You'll need to create an account if you don't have one already. Once you're in, you can view your transcript and look for any transaction codes or updates that might explain your status issue.

I was in the same boat a few months ago. Turns out there was an issue with my return that I didn't even know about. Definitely check that transcript ASAP!

Have you guys tried using Claimyr? It's this service that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when an agent picks up. Costs $20 but saved me hours of hold time. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/bDXD2SD0gGk

Sounds too good to be true. Does it actually work?

Yeah, it really does! I was skeptical at first too, but it got me through to an IRS agent in about 45 minutes. Totally worth the $20 imo.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your IRS tax transcript online (as others have mentioned) 2. Look for any transaction codes or updates 3. If you see anything unusual, note it down 4. If you don't see anything helpful, try calling the IRS directly 5. Be prepared with your personal info and any relevant tax documents 6. If you can't get through on the phone, consider sending a written inquiry Remember, patience is key when dealing with the IRS. It might take some time, but persistence usually pays off. Good luck!

Have you considered that it might be a glitch in the matrix? Maybe we're all just living in a simulation run by the IRS 🤔👽

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/bDXD2SD0gGk

Sounds interesting. How long did it take to get through to someone?

It took about an hour, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. The service called me when an agent was on the line.

I get the skepticism, but for me, it was worth it to not waste a whole day on hold. Time is money, you know?
