IRS Refund Delay: No Updates 3 Weeks After ID Verification - What's Going On?

Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with this refund situation. I submitted my identification documents three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. No updates, no nothing. Has anyone else been dealing with this? It's driving me crazy not knowing what's going on with my money.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been waiting for over a month now. It's like they just throw our documents into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling them?

Yeah, I've tried calling but it's impossible to get through. I've been on hold for hours and then just get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. Sometimes you can get through faster that way. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho. They got me through in like 45 minutes when I'd been trying for days.

Just tried it and it actually worked! Got through to an agent in about an hour. Thanks for the tip! 💯

The whole system is broken af. They expect us to just sit around twiddling our thumbs while they take their sweet time? Some of us have bills to pay! 😤

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about the refund process: 1. Verification can take 4-6 weeks on average, but can sometimes stretch to 8-10 weeks. 2. If you submitted online, check your online account for any messages or requests for additional info. 3. Sometimes they send letters asking for more documentation, so keep an eye on your mail. 4. If it's been more than 6 weeks, you can try calling the refund hotline at 800-829-1954. 5. Be prepared with your social security number, filing status, and exact refund amount when you call. 6. If all else fails, contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can sometimes help move things along. Hope this helps! Hang in there, everyone.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this. I'll definitely be checking my online account more regularly now.

have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school but I've heard it can sometimes get faster results

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I might give it a shot if it could help. Do you know what fax number to use?

0 coins

lol i know right? But desperate times call for desperate measures! I think the fax number depends on your location, check their website for the right one for your area.

Plot twist: they're using our refunds to fund a secret underground bunker for when the lizard people finally reveal themselves. Wake up, sheeple! 🦎👽

Dude, take off the tinfoil hat 🙄 They're obviously just incompetent, no conspiracy needed lol

0 coins

That's exactly what a lizard person would say... 🤔

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local congressman's office? Sometimes they can help push things along with federal agencies.

0 coins

I hadn't even thought of that! Great idea, I'll look into it. Thanks!

ugh im so done with this. been waiting 2 months now. thinking of just showing up at their office and refusing to leave until someone helps me lol
