IRS Refund Delayed Past Feb 26 Deposit Date - Need Help!
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my tax refund situation. It was supposed to be deposited on February 26th, but it's still not in my account. We're in desperate need of this money. Has anyone else experienced delays with their refund? I've tried contacting the IRS, but I can't get through to a real person. Any advice on what I should do or why this might be happening?

Ugh, I feel your pain! š« I'm in the same boat. My refund was supposed to come last month, and I'm still waiting. The IRS website just says it's still being processed. So frustrating!

ā¢Same here! Its like they dont even care about us regular folks. We pay our taxes on time, but when it comes to refunds, suddenly everything moves at a snails pace. š

ā¢Have you guys tried calling the IRS? I heard if you keep calling, eventually you might get through to someone.

ā¢Tried calling like a million times. Always get the 'high call volume' message and then it hangs up on me. š¤¬

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

ā¢Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but it actually worked for me. Got through to an agent in about 2 hours without having to sit on hold myself.

ā¢I get it, but for me, it was worth it. I was going crazy trying to get through on my own. Sometimes you gotta spend money to save time, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the IRS for years: 1. Check your tax transcript online. It often has more detailed info than the 'Where's My Refund' tool. 2. If there's an issue with your return, they usually send a letter. Keep an eye on your mail. 3. Sometimes delays happen if there's a discrepancy between your reported income and what your employer reported. 4. If you claimed certain credits (like Earned Income Tax Credit), your refund might be held for additional review. 5. Be patient. As frustrating as it is, sometimes it just takes time. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP!

Have you tried sacrificing a goat to the IRS gods? I hear that speeds up the process š

ā¢Instructions unclear. Sacrificed my W-2 instead. Now what? š

Serious question: has anyone ever sued the IRS for delays? Like, if we're late with taxes, we get penalized. Shouldn't it work both ways?

ā¢Lol good luck with that. You'd have better odds winning the lottery while getting struck by lightning

ā¢Actually, there have been class action lawsuits against the IRS for various issues. But individual suits are pretty much impossible due to sovereign immunity.

Pro tip: if you adjust your W-4 to have less withheld throughout the year, you won't have to wait for a big refund. It's better to have that money in your pocket each paycheck anyway!
