IRS Fraud Alert 810 Code Denied my Refund. Need Advice!
Filed my taxes a month ago and got hit with fraud alert 810 code on my transcript. Never had this happen before. Got denied my refund and no one at IRS is giving me straight answers. Called 3 times and keep getting different stories. Anyone dealt with this and know how to fix it? Really need this money for bills.

Let me help explain what's going on with the 810 freeze code. This is a fraud alert that the IRS places on accounts when they suspect potential identity theft or fraud. It's not necessarily because you did anything wrong - it's a protective measure. The IRS has really ramped up their fraud detection lately which means more legitimate returns are getting caught in the net. I've seen a lot of these recently and theres a few ways to handle it. First, call the IRS Identity Verification line at 800-830-5084. You might also get a 5071C letter asking you to verify your identity. If you want a detailed analysis of your specific situation and next steps, I'd recommend using taxr.ai - it's an AI tool that can analyze your transcript and give you a clear timeline and action plan. I used it on my 810 freeze and it was super helpful in understanding exactly what I needed to do.

•Been stuck with 810 for 2 months now smh. How exactly does taxr work? Does it just read transcripts or what?

Yeah the 810 code is a huge pain. Its basically saying they need to verify your identity. You'll need to verify through ID.me or visit a local IRS office in person. Had this last year - took about 6 weeks to clear after verification.

•Did you have to send any extra documents? The last agent mentioned something about wage verification

•Yep - had to send in my W2s and a copy of my ID. Make sure to fax them, mail takes forever 🐌

Hey everyone! Instead of playing detective with your transcript codes, check out taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and what to do next. It costs $4.99 but saved me weeks of stress. https://taxr.ai

•100% legit! It uses AI to read your transcript and spots issues like fraud alerts instantly. Way better than googling random codes

An 810 freeze code means the IRS has flagged your return for potential identity theft or fraud. Here's what you need to do: 1. Complete ID verification through ID.me 2. Have ready: SSN card, ID, W2s, previous tax returns 3. Call the Identity Verification hotline: 800-830-5084 4. Consider using taxr.ai to scan your transcript for other potential issues 5. Allow 9 weeks after verification for processing Don't panic - this is actually pretty common these days with all the covid scams they're trying to prevent.
