How to get a copy of 1095-A - Never received in mail

Need help finding my 1095A form. Never got it in the mail and now I'm stuck trying to file my taxes. Anyone know where I can get it or request a new one? Really frustrating since I need this to finish my return.

You can get your 1095-A form by logging into your healthcare.gov account. Go to your profile and look for tax forms section. If you don't have access to your account, call the Marketplace at 1-800-318-2596 and they can help you get a copy.

thank you! didnt even think to check the website 🤦‍♀️

Just make sure you have your login info ready. They're really strict about identity verification now

Hey everyone! While getting the 1095-A is straightforward, if your having issues with your return after you get it, check out taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcripts and tells you exactly what's going on. Only costs $1 and saved me hours of headache. https://taxr.ai

Does it really work? Been seeing people talk about it but seems too good to be true

100% works! It basically reads your transcript like a pro and explains everything in plain english. Best dollar I ever spent fr fr

Just tried it and WOW 🔥 wish I knew about this months ago!

Pro tip: call right when they open at 8am EST. Way less wait time 👍

Also check if your insurance company has a member portal - some of them have copies of the 1095-A available for download there too. Mine had it when I couldn't find the paper copy anywhere!

That's a great tip! I didn't even think to check my insurance company's website. Definitely worth trying that route before sitting on hold for hours with the marketplace.

Also wanted to mention - if you moved during the year or changed addresses, that might be why you didn't receive it. The IRS sends 1095-A forms to the address they have on file from when you enrolled. Definitely check healthcare.gov first like others suggested, but if there's an address issue you might need to update that for next year too.

Good point about the address thing! I had this exact issue a couple years ago when I moved mid-year and forgot to update my info. Definitely worth double-checking that your current address is on file with the marketplace for future forms too.

If you're still having trouble getting through to the marketplace, you can also try requesting it through the mail. Call 1-800-318-2596 and ask them to mail a duplicate 1095-A to your current address - sometimes this is faster than trying to access it online, especially if you're having login issues. Just make sure they have your correct mailing address on file!

That's really helpful! I didn't know you could specifically request them to mail a duplicate. That might actually be easier than dealing with website login issues or waiting forever on hold. Thanks for sharing that option!

Just wanted to add that if you enrolled through a state marketplace instead of healthcare.gov, you'll need to log into that state's specific website. Each state exchange handles their own 1095-A forms. Also, if you're still having trouble accessing it online, many tax prep software programs can help you locate and import the form directly - might be worth checking if your tax software has that feature!

Really good point about the state marketplaces! I almost made that mistake myself. Also didn't know some tax software could import the forms directly - that sounds super convenient. Which tax programs have you seen do this? Might be worth switching if it makes the whole process easier!
