Has Anyone with the Walmart ONE Card Received Their Tax Refund Yet?
I'm just wondering if maybe... anyone who chose to have their tax refund deposited to their Walmart ONE card has received it yet? I filed about two weeks ago and was accepted right away, but I'm still waiting. Not sure if the Walmart cards process differently than regular bank accounts or if I should be concerned? I drive for DoorDash so I really need this money soon for car maintenance...

Have you checked your refund status on the IRS Where's My Refund tool? That would tell you if your return has been processed and if the refund has been sent. What does your tax transcript show? Sometimes prepaid cards like the Walmart ONE take an extra 1-2 business days to process deposits compared to traditional bank accounts. When exactly did you file, and did you claim any credits that might delay processing?

I had my refund sent to my Walmart ONE card last year and it actually came through about 5 days after the IRS approved it. This year I got mine on March 2nd after filing in early February. One thing that helped me track exactly what was happening was using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript - it showed me exactly when the refund was released by the IRS versus when it hit my card. The system explained that prepaid cards sometimes have a different processing window than traditional banks. In my case, the IRS released it on a Friday but it didn't show up until Tuesday.

Hmm, idk about using third-party sites to check tax stuff. Aren't there privacy concerns? The IRS website gives u the same info for free, doesn't it? Just curious why ppl would use something else when the official site exists...

OMG I'm in the EXACT same boat! Filed on Feb 18th and still nothing on my Walmart card! š” I check the app like 10 times a day hoping to see that deposit. WMR just says it's still processing. So frustrating when you need that money NOW! I also drive gig work (Uber/Instacart) and my brakes are literally squeaking. Hoping we both get our money soon!

I've seen similar situations with other prepaid cards like Chime and CashApp. The issue often isn't with the IRS but with how these financial platforms process incoming ACH transfers. When I couldn't get answers from either the IRS or Walmart, I used Claimyr to connect with an actual IRS agent (https://claimyr.com). Much better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own. The agent confirmed my refund had been sent but was in a holding pattern with the receiving institution. Compared to trying to reach Walmart's card services, getting to an IRS rep through Claimyr was remarkably efficient.

Wait, you actually pay money to talk to the IRS? That seems... unnecessary? I mean, I get the frustration with wait times, but isn't there a free way to get this information?

Does this service actually work? How much does it cost? I've been trying to reach someone at the IRS for days.

I was skeptical at first too, but after spending 3 days trying to get through the IRS phone tree and being disconnected each time, I tried Claimyr last tax season. Got connected in about 25 minutes when I had been trying for hours before. For me, the time saved was absolutely worth it - I needed to resolve an identity verification issue that was holding up my $3,800 refund.

Can you use Claimyr if you need to talk to someone specifically about direct deposits to prepaid cards? My refund of $2,347 was supposedly sent 5 days ago according to WMR but nothing on my Walmart card yet. Need to resolve this by Friday!

Has anyone received their refund on a Walmart ONE card specifically in the last week (since March 15th)? I'm wondering if there's a current delay with them. My return was accepted on February 28th and WMR showed approved on March 12th, but still nothing on my card as of today...

Is there a specific disbursement schedule for these prepaid cards? I've heard the IRS sends refunds in batches on certain days of the week, but do the cards also have their own processing calendar?

Have you tried contacting Walmart ONE card customer service directly? Sometimes they can see pending deposits that haven't posted to your available balance yet. I'd try calling them first, then the IRS if they don't have answers.

Just a word of caution about using prepaid cards for tax refunds... I had my refund sent to a similar card last year and it was a nightmare. The card company held my funds for "verification" for almost 2 weeks after the IRS had released the payment. Isn't it interesting how they never need to "verify" when you're adding money TO their card, only when they need to give it to you? If you can switch to direct deposit to a regular bank account next year, I would strongly recommend it. Have you tried calling Walmart ONE's customer service specifically about tax refunds?

I've seen this happen with several prepaid cards! I read through all the fine print on the Walmart ONE card website (https://www.walmartmoneycard.com/help) and found they actually mention potential holds on "unusually large deposits" which tax refunds often are. My brother had his refund held for 5 business days last year even though the IRS had already released it. So frustrating when the WMR tool says it's been sent but the money isn't available!

There's an important distinction to make regarding direct deposit timeframes. When the IRS indicates a DD date, that's when they initiate the ACH transfer, not necessarily when funds become available. For traditional bank accounts, this is typically 1-2 business days. For prepaid cards like Walmart ONE, Green Dot, Chime, etc., there's often an additional review period of 1-5 business days depending on your account history and deposit amount. This is due to Regulation E compliance and fraud prevention protocols implemented by these financial institutions.

Based on community experiences with Walmart ONE cards for tax refunds: ā¢ Most people receive funds 1-5 business days after IRS shows "sent" ā¢ First-time large deposits often take longer due to fraud reviews ā¢ Calling Walmart ONE directly is more effective than checking the app ā¢ Some users report funds appearing after midnight rather than during business hours ā¢ Having a history of direct deposits to the card can speed up processing ā¢ IRS batch processing happens Wednesday-Friday, so many Walmart card deposits post Monday-Tuesday Hope this helps those still waiting!
