Filed 2/7, IRS Reps giving conflicting info about processing status - anyone else getting different answers?
Finally got through to IRS today about my 2/7 filing. First rep said my return was processing and to watch for transcript updates. Called back to confirm and spoke with 3 more reps who all said something completely different. At this point im done getting my hopes up and tired of these mixed messages.

This is actually very common. IRS reps often have different levels of access and training, which leads to conflicting information. Best advice is to rely on your transcript updates rather than phone calls. The processing time this year is running 6-8 weeks for clean returns, longer if there are any verification needs.

Pro tip: call right when they open at 7am EST. Less wait time and you usually get the more experienced reps who actually know whats up.
