Do IRS transcript offset codes update if you have outstanding debt?
I see an offset amount on my transcript from a past debt. Does anyone know if this number changes when you make payments or does it just stay the same until its paid off? Starting to think im looking at old info but idk how to check if its current.

The offset indicator and amount on your transcript will update, but it can take 2-4 weeks for changes to reflect after payments are processed. The TOP (Treasury Offset Program) updates their system monthly, so you might see a lag between when you make a payment and when your transcript shows the new balance.
