Anyone with March 6th DDD get their refund through Cash App yet?

Still waiting on my refund. Got the March 6th deposit date. Using Cash App for direct deposit. Anyone else? Any funds hit yet? Need this for inventory purchases.

Elijah Knight

Cash App direct deposits typically process according to the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network schedule, which operates on business days only. The IRS-designated Direct Deposit Date (DDD) is when the Treasury initiates the transfer, not necessarily when funds become available in your financial account. Current ACH processing times indicate most Cash App users should see deposits within 1-2 business days after the official DDD, barring any verification holds.

I'm in the same boat with a March 6th date. My deposit status still shows: ā€¢ Accepted by IRS - Feb 12 ā€¢ Processing - Feb 20-Mar 1 ā€¢ DDD assigned - Mar 6 ā€¢ Actual deposit - Still waiting Starting to get a bit concerned since I've never used Cash App for tax refunds before.

I actually went through this last year with Cash App. Here's what happened: 1. Got my DDD of March 5th, 2023 2. Checked Cash App obsessively for 2 days - nothing 3. Called IRS on March 7th - they confirmed it was sent 4. Money appeared in Cash App on March 8th around 2pm 5. Cash App didn't send any notification until after it posted So basically it took 3 business days after my DDD to actually see the money.

Anyone actually get their March 6th deposit in Cash App today? Mine still isn't there. Called Cash App support but they couldn't tell me anything useful.

Got mine at 2:37pm today! Was starting to think I'd have to survive on ramen for another week. šŸ˜… For what it's worth, I've used Cash App for 3 years of refunds now, and they're always a day or two behind the official date. This year was actually faster than last year for me.

Have you tried calling the IRS to confirm if your refund was actually sent? Sometimes there's a discrepancy between what WMR shows and what actually happened. I've seen several cases where people with March 6th dates are still waiting. If you need to speak with an IRS agent to verify, try Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com). They'll connect you to an IRS agent quickly instead of waiting on hold for hours. Might give you peace of mind knowing exactly what's happening with your refund.

Is this service legit? Never heard of it. Don't want to waste money if I'm still not getting answers. IRS never picks up anyway.

OMG THANK YOU!! I was on hold with the IRS for 2+ hours yesterday and gave up. Just used Claimyr and got through in 20 minutes! Agent confirmed my refund was sent to Cash App on the 6th and said sometimes it takes 3-5 business days for them to process it. Such a relief knowing it's not lost!

According to the IRS2Go app and multiple Reddit threads, many Cash App users are experiencing 1-3 day delays with March DDDs. The IRS website specifically states that financial institutions may take additional processing time. You might want to check the Cash App subreddit where there's a megathread about tax refund timing that's updated daily.

I'm not sure Cash App is the best choice for tax refunds... I've heard they sometimes hold larger deposits for review. Maybe traditional banks process IRS deposits more reliably? Just something to consider for next year perhaps.

My cousin had the same issue with Chime last year, so I don't think it's just a Cash App thing. All these fintech companies seem to handle government deposits differently than traditional banks. At least with Cash App you can track it in the app.

Does anyone know if Cash App has a specific verification process for IRS deposits? Are there transaction limits that might trigger a hold? My refund is around $8,500 which seems high for a typical Cash App transaction.

Isn't it interesting how we trust these newer financial platforms with our tax refunds? Cash App is FDIC insured through their banking partner, but has anyone considered that their processing systems might not be as robust as traditional banks for handling government payments? That said, they're usually quite reliable once the initial setup period passes.

Thanks for this insight. Never thought about it that way. Will give it another day before panicking.

I received my refund exactly 48 hours and 17 minutes after my March 6th DDD. It hit my Cash App at 3:17pm on March 8th. Last year it took 72 hours. The year before that it was 24 hours. There's definitely no consistent pattern.

Tax refunds through Cash App are like waiting for a pizza delivery with no tracking - you know it's coming but have no idea when it'll actually arrive. My March 6th refund just showed up today (March 9th). No notification, no pending deposit warning, just suddenly appeared in my balance. For anyone still waiting, hang in there!
