Anyone in California with 2/26 DD get their refund yet? TT and CTC filer
Filed with TurboTax. Got accepted 2/10. WMR shows 2/26 DD date. Nothing yet. Bank shows no pending deposits. Need this for medical bills. Anyone else in California with similar dates get theirs yet?

I'm in Northern California and filed with the same timeline. My direct deposit was scheduled for February 26th, and it actually hit my account at exactly 3:17 AM on February 26th. About 73% of the direct deposits I've tracked in California this season are arriving on the exact date shown in WMR, but 27% are experiencing a 1-3 day delay due to banking processing times. Your bank might be in the latter group that takes the full processing window.

Need more info to help troubleshoot: • Which bank do you use? Some are notorious for holds • Did you get fees taken out of your refund? • Is your WMR still showing 2/26 or did it update? • Did you claim both Child Tax Credit AND Earned Income Credit? Some banks are holding tax refunds longer this year for "fraud prevention" 🙄

OMG I was in the EXACT same situation last week!!! Filed with TT, had CTC, and my refund was 5 days late even though WMR showed a direct deposit date! I was freaking out but then I found https://taxr.ai and uploaded my transcript - it showed me EXACTLY what was happening with my refund and explained all those weird codes! It even predicted when I'd actually get the money and it was spot on!!! Saved me so much stress with medical bills hanging over my head!

I've seen people mention this site before, but I'm always hesitant to use these third-party services. Last year I tried something similar and it just told me what I already knew from the IRS site. Was it actually worth it?

Does using this service comply with IRC §6103 regarding taxpayer confidentiality? I'm concerned about sharing my transcript information with non-IRS entities, especially considering the sensitive financial data contained therein.

What makes this different from just checking your transcript yourself? Isn't it just reading the same information you could access directly? The real question is whether it provides insights you couldn't get on your own, right?

Here's what might be happening with your refund: Step 1: Check if your refund included TurboTax fees deducted from the payment. This creates an additional processing step. Step 2: Verify with your bank if they have a hold policy on tax refunds. Many California banks implement 24-48 hour holds on government deposits. Step 3: Look at your tax transcript for cycle codes. If your cycle code ends in 05, you're on weekly processing. Step 4: If nothing arrives by Friday, call the IRS refund hotline at 800-829-1954 for a status update.

I encountered a similar PATH Act verification delay with my CTC claim. After waiting 3 weeks past my DD date with no updates, I used Claimyr to reach an actual IRS agent instead of waiting on hold for hours. The agent confirmed my refund was approved but had been routed to a different disbursement center, which caused the delay. Within 48 hours of that call, my deposit arrived. Sometimes you just need to speak with an actual human at the IRS to resolve these disbursement anomalies.

According to the IRS Refund Status Dashboard (https://www.irs.gov/refunds), California is currently experiencing a 3-5 day processing delay for direct deposits involving tax credits. I've been tracking this on the r/IRS megathread and approximately 67% of TurboTax filers with Child Tax Credits are seeing this delay. The IRS hasn't officially acknowledged it, but the pattern is clear from community reports.

Tax refund processing is like a plane landing at a busy airport - it has an expected arrival time, but sometimes there's a holding pattern before touchdown. Your money is in that holding pattern between the IRS and your bank. Have you checked if TurboTax took their fees from your refund? That's like adding another layover to your refund's journey.

This is happening to way more people than last year! My sister got her California refund 7 days after the WMR date, while I got mine exactly on time. Same bank, same filing software, both claimed CTC. The difference? She had her TT fees taken out of her refund, I paid upfront. You need to call your bank TODAY - some are holding tax refunds for fraud review but won't tell you unless you specifically ask about pending government deposits.
