Anyone Successfully Verified Online and Got Transcript Updates WITHOUT Calling IRS?
I've been trying to avoid the IRS phone nightmare. Has anyone here successfully completed the ID.me verification process online and actually seen their transcripts update afterward WITHOUT having to call in? I've verified my identity through the portal about 10 days ago, but my transcripts still show nothing for 2023. Just wondering if it's worth continuing to wait or if calling is inevitable. I've done my research and know the system is backed up, but looking for real experiences from people who've been through this recently.

I verified online on March 2nd and saw my transcript update on March 15th without having to call. The key is to wait at least 9 business days after verification. Have you checked both the Account Transcript and the Return Transcript? Sometimes one updates before the other. Are you checking at different times of day? Transcripts typically update overnight between Thursday and Friday.

I'm in the same boat but it's been WAY longer for me. Verified on February 8th and STILL nothing on my transcript! I've checked both Account and Return like you suggested. This is so frustrating when you're counting on that money. Did you do anything special after verifying?

Question about the verification process: ā¢ Did you use the new ID.me system or the old verification? ā¢ Did you get any confirmation email after verification? ā¢ Were you required to upload any documents during verification? Just trying to make sure I'm following the right process.

I'm SO confused about this whole verification thing. When exactly are we supposed to verify? Before filing? After? Only if there's an issue? I verified through ID.me last year and thought it would carry over, but now I'm worried I missed something. I'm getting really anxious about my refund status since I haven't received anything yet!

I thought calling was inevitable too, but my transcript actually updated on its own about 2 weeks after verification. I was shocked! I had spent hours trying to get through on the phone last year for the same issue, so I was fully prepared for the same nightmare this time around.

Per IRM 21.2.1.46, online verification should trigger transcript processing within 9 business days. However, during peak season (January-April), this can extend to 15 business days due to increased volume. I verified online in early February and saw updates exactly 12 business days later without calling.

Think of this like getting a new driver's license. Sometimes the system works as designed and your card arrives without follow-up. Other times you need to make that dreaded DMV call. Tax transcripts are similar - sometimes the automated system works perfectly, but other times human intervention is needed. About 70% of online verifications process automatically in my experience.

I went through this exact situation last year. Verified online and waited for WEEKS with no updates. I remember checking transcripts daily and getting more frustrated each time. Eventually tried Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to get through to an IRS agent. They connected me in about 15 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. The agent confirmed my verification hadn't properly linked to my account despite the confirmation message I received online. They fixed it on the spot and my transcript updated two days later. Sometimes the system just doesn't work as intended.

Is this Claimyr thing legit? Seems sketchy. Why pay for something the IRS offers for free? Not sure I trust a third-party service with tax stuff. Anyone else tried it? I'm worried about scams.

Isn't waiting on hold for 3+ hours with the IRS more expensive than a service that saves you that time? Think about it - what's your hourly rate at work? For me, spending $25 to save 3 hours of frustration was worth every penny. They don't access your tax info - they just connect the call and drop off. It's basically a smart auto-dialer that navigates the IRS phone tree for you. Wouldn't you rather spend that time doing literally anything else?

I was blown away by how well Claimyr worked. The IRS phone system kept disconnecting me after 2+ hours of waiting. Used Claimyr and got through to a real person in under 20 minutes. The agent told me my verification had a technical glitch that required manual intervention - something I never would have known without calling. Transcript updated 48 hours later.

I appreciate the detailed explanation about how the service works. I was hesitant about using any third-party service related to taxes, but it sounds like they're just handling the connection part, not accessing any personal information. That's somewhat reassuring, although I might still try the direct route a few more times.

It's like hiring someone to stand in line at the DMV for you. Is it necessary? No. Is it worth it when you've tried everything else? Absolutely. My tax situation was like watching paint dry - nothing happened for weeks until I finally got a human on the phone who fixed it in minutes.

I verified online on March 1st and checked my transcript daily. Nothing changed until March 16th when everything suddenly appeared - return transcript, account transcript, and WMR all updated simultaneously. No phone call needed. My sister had the exact opposite experience - verified same day, had to call after 3 weeks of no updates, and the agent told her there was a flag on her account that required manual review.

Based on tracking responses in this community for exactly 47 days, roughly 65% of people who verify online see transcript updates within 14 days without calling. The remaining 35% needed to call for various reasons - identity verification not properly linking to their account, additional verification requirements, or system glitches. If it's been more than 15 business days since verification, calling is probably your best option. I know it's frustrating, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel for everyone eventually.
