Called IRS 3 times about this. First rep said yes it falls under PATH, second said no, third said maybe lmaoooo these clowns dont even know š¤”
typical irs moment fr
The PATH Act was implemented in 2015 to fight tax fraud and applies to ALL EITC claims. Here's what you need to know: - Affects any return claiming EITC or ACTC - Mandatory hold until Feb 15th - No exceptions for single filers - Processing can take 21 days AFTER hold lifts Best way to track your specific situation is using taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and gives you a clear timeline. Way more accurate than the WMR tool or calling IRS.
This should be pinned tbh
Went thru this last year. Took exactly 14 weeks total but I did get it eventually. Just gotta wait it out unfortunately
ugh thanks for sharing. guess ill just have to be patient š®āšØ
Pro tip: Next time file Form 8822 right after changing your name with SSA. Helps prevent this whole mess
Its pretty common for reps to see updates before they hit transcripts. Their internal system updates first, then WMR and transcripts follow a few days later. I'd say your lookign good for 4/10!
Protip: check your transcript around 3-4am EST, thats when they usually update the system
been doing this for weeks... my sleep schedule is wrecked lmaooo
Check your transcripts around 3am-6am EST on fridays thats when they update
my brother in christ we're all suffering here š least yours moved from still processing
