2023 CTC Refund Still Showing PATH Message - No Update Yet?
Filed early January with child tax credit and still seeing the PATH message on transcript. The message was supposed to update mid February but nothing has changed. Anyone else stuck like this? Starting to get worried since bills are piling up.

Tax expert here. This is actually pretty common this year. The PATH act requires the IRS to hold refunds that include EITC/CTC until mid-February, but processing times can extend beyond that. Have you checked your transcript for specific codes? That would give us more insight into whats actually happening with your return.

Those codes usually indicate additional review. The 570 is a hold and 971 means they sent you a notice. Keep an eye on your mail.
