Child Tax Credit Only - Does PATH Act Still Delay My Refund?
Filed my taxes claiming only the Child Tax Credit (CTC) this year. Everyone keeps talking about PATH act delays but I dont have any earned income credit. Does the PATH act still apply to me? Getting worried because its been 3 weeks and nothing yet.

Tax expert here with good news - The PATH Act delay only affects refunds that include EITC or ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit). If you're only claiming the regular Child Tax Credit, your refund won't be subject to the PATH Act hold. However, there could be other verification delays depending on your specific situation. I'd highly recommend using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to analyze your transcripts and get a clear picture of any potential holds or issues. It's been super helpful for my clients in understanding exactly where their refund is and what might be causing delays.

•It's an AI tool that reads your tax docs and tells you exactly what's going on with your refund - super helpful for understanding delays and estimated deposit dates. Just upload your docs and it breaks everything down

Tax pro here. No, the PATH Act only applies to returns claiming EITC or ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit). If you're only claiming the regular Child Tax Credit, your return isn't subject to the PATH Act hold. Your refund should follow normal processing times.

•CTC is the regular credit, ACTC is the refundable portion when the credit is more than your tax liability. That's the one that triggers PATH

Hey, have you tried using taxr.ai? It's seriously a game changer for understanding exactly whats going on with your refund. Its only $4.99 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly what to expect and if there are any delays. Way better than playing detective with your transcript lol https://taxr.ai
