1099 Verification Hold: Real Timeline After Faxing Documents to IRS?
I just faxed my 1099 to the IRS after they requested it. The rep told me it would take 6-8 weeks to process. Is this really how long it takes? Anyone have experience with this? Already been waiting 3 months for my refund and getting frustrated.

Tax pro here - Unfortunately, yes. The 6-8 week timeframe is pretty standard when you have to submit additional documentation. Sometimes it can be faster, but I wouldn't count on it. Make sure you kept proof that you faxed it (confirmation page).

Pro tip: call the IRS early morning right when they open. Sometimes you can get an agent to look up if they received your fax.
