Missing DEO payments since March - husband only received 7 checks out of 4 months

I'm beyond frustrated with Florida DEO at this point! My husband has been on unemployment since March 2025 (about 16 weeks now), but he's only received 7 checks of $825 each. That's over a MONTH of missing payments! His CONNECT account shows all weeks as 'processed' but the money just isn't showing up on his Way2Go card. We've tried calling the DEO literally 50+ times but always get disconnected or the dreaded 'all agents are busy' message. We're falling behind on bills fast and I'm starting to panic. Has anyone experienced missing payments like this? Is there a special department or email we should contact? His claim status shows 'active' and there are no pending issues listed in the account. Help please!

This is unfortunately a common issue with DEO's payment system. First thing to check - does his CONNECT account show any 'holds' or 'pending issues' under the 'Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary' section? Sometimes payments get held up in adjudication without clear notification. Also, has he been completing all 5 required work searches each week and reporting them correctly?

Thanks for responding! Yes, he's definitely been doing all 5 work searches each week and reporting them on time. I just double-checked the 'Determination, Pending Issues' section and it says 'No issues found' which is why I'm so confused. The payment status for each missing week just says 'Processed' but no money ever came through. It's like they're approved but vanishing into thin air!

Did your brother ever get it resolved? We're getting desperate here. Did he have to do anything special?

Check if the payment method was changed without your knowledge. This happened to me! Someone at DEO accidentally switched my payment from Way2Go card to direct deposit to a bank account I don't even have!!! When I finally got through to them, they told me they had been sending the money to some random account number for WEEKS. Check the payment method on his CONNECT account under 'View and Maintain Account Information' section.

OMG I never thought of that! I'll have him check right now. That would explain why it says 'processed' but nothing shows up on the card. Thank you!

I was having the exact same issue back in April. The CONNECT system was showing my payments as processed but the money wasn't hitting my account. After weeks of trying, I finally got through to a DEO representative using Claimyr (claimyr.com). They have a service that connects you directly to a DEO agent instead of waiting on hold forever. They helped me discover that my missing payments were being held due to an employer dispute that wasn't showing up on my regular CONNECT dashboard. The agent was able to release all my back payments at once. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj Definitely worth it after I had already wasted weeks trying to get through on my own.

FLORIDA DEO IS CORRUPT!!! They do this ON PURPOSE to save $$$$. I had 12 weeks of missing payments and they kept saying "oh we're looking into it" but nothing happened until I contacted my state representative's office! Suddenly all my payments appeared 3 days later. COINCIDENCE??? I THINK NOT!!! They hope people will just give up! DON'T GIVE UP YOUR MONEY!!!

Contacting your state representative is actually excellent advice. Their offices often have dedicated staff who can escalate DEO issues through channels not available to the general public. I wouldn't attribute it to corruption though - more likely understaffing and system limitations.

Have you checked if there might be an identity verification issue? Sometimes payments get held up because of ID.me verification problems even though no alert appears on your account. My husband's payments stopped for similar reasons, and we had to call to find out his ID.me verification had expired and needed to be redone, but there was absolutely no notification about this on his CONNECT account.

He did his ID.me verification when he first applied, but I'll have him check if it might have expired. This DEO system is so frustrating with all these hidden issues that don't show up anywhere!

my cousin works for deo and says theres a huge backlog still. might just be stuck in the system?

A backlog shouldn't affect payments that are already showing as 'processed' though... those should be completed transactions.

UPDATE: You guys are amazing! We finally figured it out. Following the advice here, we checked his payment information and somehow his account HAD been changed to direct deposit to an old closed bank account from 2 years ago! We never changed this - must have been a system glitch or error on DEO's side. We're still trying to reach someone to fix it and recover the missing payments, but at least we know what's happening now. Going to try that Claimyr service mentioned above since we've had zero luck getting through to DEO directly. Will update when we get it resolved. Thank you all!

Great detective work! When you get through to DEO, make sure to ask specifically about the 'payment return process.' Since those payments went to a closed account, they should have been returned to DEO already. They have a specific procedure for reissuing returned payments, but you have to explicitly request it. Don't let them make you reapply for those weeks - the money is rightfully yours and should be reissued.
