DEO pending issues preventing payment and week requests for over 8 weeks
I'm at my wits end with Florida's DEO system. Been stuck in this weird limbo for 8 weeks where I have a pending issue on my claim (something about employer response?), can't get ANY payments, and now the system won't even let me REQUEST new weeks! My claim dashboard just says 'pending issue' with a date from February, but gives zero details about what's actually wrong or what I need to do. I've called literally 47 times this week alone and either get disconnected or told 'all agents are busy.' Has anyone else been stuck like this? What did you do to finally get movement on your claim? My rent is due in 10 days and I'm seriously panicking.

omg i was stuck in the EXACT same situation from january-march!! so frustrating!! the system is completely broken and they dont care at all about us!!! i couldnt request weeks either and had TWO pending issues. one for 'ability to work' and another for 'employer protest' whatever that means. I finally got it fixed but took FOREVER

This is a common issue with the CONNECT system right now. When you have a pending adjudication, the system sometimes incorrectly blocks you from claiming weeks even though you're supposed to keep claiming throughout the adjudication process. Here's what you need to do: 1. First, check if you can see what the pending issue actually is. Log into CONNECT, go to "Determination, Pending Issue and Decision Summary" and see if there are details. 2. If your employer is contesting your claim, DEO has to investigate, but this shouldn't take 8 weeks. Standard adjudication should be 3-4 weeks max currently. 3. Most importantly, you need to speak with a claims adjudicator directly, not just a regular DEO agent. Regular agents can't move adjudication forward.

•Thank you for the detailed response. I checked that section and it just shows "Pending Adjudication - Employer Response" from 2/13/2025. No other details. How do I specifically reach a claims adjudicator? The regular agents never seem to transfer me when I ask.

Same exact boat. Been waiting since January 28th, can't claim weeks since mid-March. Tried emailing too, no response. Called 20+ times last Tuesday, nothing.

I finally got my claim fixed after 7 weeks of the same issue. Here's exactly what worked for me: 1. I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual person at DEO. I was skeptical at first but it actually connected me with a real agent in about 20 mins after trying for weeks on my own. You can see how it works here: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj 2. Once I got through, I specifically asked for a "claims adjudicator" and explained I had a pending issue for over 45 days. They transferred me (after initially trying to just take a message). 3. The adjudicator was able to see my employer never actually responded to DEO's inquiry, which is why it was stuck. She manually cleared the hold. 4. All my weeks opened up for claiming the next day and I got paid about 5 days later. Don't give up - the key is getting to an actual adjudicator who can see the full details of your claim.

•Thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! I'm definitely going to try Claimyr - at this point I'd try anything. Did you have to explain why your claim should be approved or did they just clear it once they saw the employer hadn't responded?

I had a somewhat similar situation last year, but it was a different pending issue (something about my identity verification). I was stuck for about 9 weeks with no movement whatsoever! What ultimately worked for me was contacting my state representative's office. They have liaisons who work directly with DEO and can often get things moving when normal channels fail. Search "[your county] Florida state representative" and find their constituent services contact. Send them an email with your claimant ID, the date your claim has been pending, and briefly explain your situation. They usually respond within 1-2 business days and can sometimes get things resolved within a week. In my case, my claim was miraculously "fixed" 4 days after my rep contacted DEO on my behalf. Worth a try if other methods don't work!

•I tried this route too. My rep's office took my info 3 weeks ago and said they'd help but haven't heard anything since. Called twice for updates and just get voicemail. Maybe depends which district you're in.

has anyone tried going to the career source office in person? i heard they can sometimes help with connect issues

•CareerSource offices can help with some basic issues, but they typically don't have direct access to the adjudication system. They're most helpful for work search questions, resume help, and basic CONNECT navigation issues. For adjudication issues specifically, you need to reach DEO directly.

The SAME thing happened to me!! Over 2 months with "pending adjudication" and couldn't claim weeks! I called and called and got NOWHERE. Eventually my account just suddenly updated one day and all my weeks became available to claim at once. I got a big lump sum payment about a week later for everything they owed me. Turns out my employer never responded to their request for information, so after the deadline passed they just approved my claim automatically. So sometimes it does eventually resolve itself, but man they make you sweat!

•That's actually really good to know. How long did it take total before yours resolved automatically? I'm at 8 weeks now and wondering if I should just wait a bit longer.

Oh and I forgot to mention - check your spam/junk email folder! DEO sent me THREE notices asking for additional information that all went to my spam folder, and I never saw them. When I finally found them, they were all past the deadline to respond. Luckily they still approved my claim, but worth checking!

•Thanks for the tip! Just checked my spam folder and don't see anything from DEO, but good to know they might be trying to contact me that way.

@OP - were you able to get through to DEO yet? Any updates on your situation?

•I tried the Claimyr service you recommended yesterday and actually got through to someone! The first agent couldn't help much but transferred me to a supervisor who said my employer DID respond but there was a discrepancy in my employment dates. They're expediting my adjudication now and said I should be able to claim all my back weeks within 3-5 business days. I'm cautiously optimistic but at least I know what's happening now. Will update when I (hopefully) get paid!

•Update: My CONNECT account was just updated this morning! The pending issue is gone, all my weeks are available to claim, and my monetary determination shows eligible! Going to claim all my back weeks right now. Thanks everyone for your help!
