Has ANYONE actually reached a human at Florida DEO? Wait times and success rates?
I'm at my wits end trying to contact Florida DEO about my pending claim. Been calling 1-800-681-8102 every day for TWO WEEKS straight and either get the "we're experiencing high call volume" message or get disconnected after waiting 45+ minutes. My claim has been stuck on 'pending-adjudication' since March 15th and I need to talk to an actual person! Has anyone here ACTUALLY managed to get through to a real human at DEO lately? If so, how long did you have to wait? And most importantly - were they actually able to help resolve your issue or was it a waste of time? My rent is due next week and I'm getting desperate for answers about when these payments might come through. Any tips or success stories would be hugely appreciated!!

After trying for days with no luck, I found a service called Claimyr that got me through to a DEO agent in about 15 minutes. It was worth it for me since I had an issue with my identity verification that was holding up my payments for over a month. The agent was able to see exactly what was wrong and fixed it while I was on the phone. My payment hit my account 3 days later. Check out their demo video at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj or go to claimyr.com. Honestly, after weeks of frustration, it was such a relief to finally talk to someone who could help.

•Wait, seriously? That actually works? I'm kinda nervous about using a third-party service... did you have to give them a bunch of personal info?

Yes, I've gotten through - but it took PERSISTENCE. Last month, I called exactly at 7:30am when they open and still waited 1hr 22min. But the rep I spoke with was actually super helpful and fixed my issue where my account was stuck in adjudication due to an employer response discrepancy. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open (7:30am) 2. If you get the high call volume message, hang up and immediately redial 3. Keep doing this until you get the hold music 4. Once on hold, DO NOT use speakerphone (I got disconnected twice doing this) 5. Have ALL your info ready - claimant ID, SSN, employment history dates The agent was able to see notes on my account that weren't visible to me in CONNECT and cleared the hold while I was on the phone. Worth the wait in my case!

Got through yesterday after trying for 3 days straight! Had to wait 1 hour 45 mins but spoke to a very nice lady named Tamika who helped clear up why my work search requirements weren't registering properly. So yes, real humans exist there!

•I'm glad you had a positive experience! Just to clarify for others reading this - the system requires 5 work search activities per week for regular unemployment (unless you have a work search waiver or are on standby status). Many people don't realize that if these aren't properly recorded in CONNECT, it can automatically flag your account and delay payments. When entering work searches, make sure you're including ALL required information including contact method, person contacted, and outcome. The system is very picky about this!

I NEVER got through calling the regular number. Wasted HOURS of my life listening to that stupid hold music only to get disconnected. The whole system is designed to make you give up!!!! After 3 weeks of trying, I finally contacted my state representative's office and they have a special contact at DEO who helped me. Try reaching out to your local state rep - they can often help when the regular channels fail.

•That's actually a really good idea I hadn't thought of. Do you just call their office directly? Did you have to provide any specific info to them? I'm willing to try anything at this point!

Listen I've been thru this 3x now with florida unemployment and honestly it depends what ur issue is. If ur just waiting on adjudication sometimes calling actually doesnt help cuz the phone ppl cant speed it up anyways?? My 1st time took 9 weeks with no calls, 2nd time I got thru after 5 days of calling and it still took 4 more weeks to process. Their system is just broken fr. If u have a specific question they might help but sometimes they just tell u to wait anyways. last time the lady was super rude and just kept saying "theres nothing i can do sir you just have to wait for the adjudicator to review your case" and hung up on me after i waited 2 hrs!!!!

•Ugh that's what I'm afraid of - waiting forever just to be told to keep waiting! But I have a specific question about why there's a "fact finding" form in my account that I already completed weeks ago. Maybe they could at least tell me if that's what's holding things up?

Yes, it is possible to reach a DEO representative, though it remains challenging due to their high call volume. If you're dealing with an adjudication issue as you mentioned, here are some important facts to understand: 1) Adjudication typically takes 3-6 weeks to resolve, but can take longer during busy periods 2) The "fact finding" form you mentioned in your comment is crucial - if there's any discrepancy or missing information, it will extend your wait time 3) While waiting, ensure you continue claiming your weeks on time 4) Check your CONNECT inbox daily for any requests for additional information When you do reach a representative, specifically ask them to check if your fact finding form was properly received and processed in the system. Sometimes forms appear submitted on your end but didn't properly upload to their system. Ask if there are any other outstanding issues requiring your attention that might not be visible in your portal. Have your claimant ID, the date you submitted the fact finding form, and details about your adjudication issue ready when you call.

•This is good advice but u forgot to mention that even after adjudication is complete they can still deny ur claim for random reasons! happened to my cousin and he had to file an appeal which took ANOTHER 2 months to resolve. The whole system is designed to deny ppl their benefits!!!!

For those asking about Claimyr - they don't require any sensitive personal info. They just need your phone number to connect the call. Once you're connected to DEO, you deal directly with DEO like normal. I was skeptical too, but after trying to get through for weeks on my own, I was desperate. The DEO agent I spoke with was able to see that my ID.me verification hadn't properly linked to my CONNECT account (even though I'd completed it), which was causing my payments to be held. She fixed it while I was on the phone.

•I don't trust ANY third party services with ANYTHING related to unemployment. Too many scams out there. Calling your state rep is FREE and they can usually help just as fast.

One more tip about calling DEO - if you select the option for "PIN reset" rather than "claim questions," the wait times are often much shorter (10-15 mins vs hours). When you get an agent, just explain your actual issue. They can usually help with most problems or transfer you if needed. I've used this trick twice successfully.

•Ohh that's a smart trick! I'm definitely going to try this tomorrow morning. Willing to try anything at this point. Thanks for the tip!

I feel your pain - I was in the exact same situation last month with my claim stuck in adjudication for over a month. What finally worked for me was calling at exactly 7:30am when they open AND having my local state representative's office call on my behalf the same day. The combination seemed to work because I got a call back from DEO within 48 hours. Here's what I learned: sometimes the "pending adjudication" status can be caused by something as simple as a mismatch in your employment dates or a missing employer response. The phone rep was able to see notes in my file that weren't visible in CONNECT and walked me through exactly what was holding up my claim. Don't give up! The system is frustrating but there ARE real people there who can help. Try the PIN reset trick that Isabella mentioned - that's genius! And definitely reach out to your state rep's office as backup. They have direct contacts at DEO that can sometimes bypass the phone queue entirely. Hang in there - you're not alone in this struggle!

•This is really encouraging to hear! I'm definitely going to try calling my state rep's office tomorrow - seems like having them call on the same day you call might be the key. Did you have to provide them with your claimant ID and all that info, or did they just need basic details about your situation? Also wondering how you found the right contact info for your rep's office - just googled "[your area] state representative"?

I finally got through last week after trying the PIN reset trick mentioned here! Waited only 12 minutes instead of hours. The agent was super helpful and discovered that my employer had submitted conflicting information about my separation date, which was causing the adjudication delay. She was able to see exactly what documents they had on file and what was missing. Here's what she told me that might help others: if your claim shows "pending adjudication" for more than 4 weeks, there's likely a specific issue that needs to be resolved - not just waiting for review. Common causes are employer disputes, ID verification problems, or incomplete work search requirements. The phone reps can actually see detailed notes about what's holding up your case that don't show in your CONNECT portal. My advice: definitely try the PIN reset option when calling, have your claimant ID and employment history ready, and ask specifically "what documentation or information is missing from my file?" Don't just accept "you have to wait" as an answer - push for specifics about what's causing the delay. Good luck!

•This is exactly the kind of detailed info I needed! I never thought to ask specifically what documentation is missing - I was just accepting the "wait for adjudication" response. The PIN reset trick seems to be a game changer based on what everyone's saying here. Going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning and push for specifics about what's actually holding up my case. Really appreciate you sharing what the agent told you about the 4-week timeline too - gives me hope that there's actually a specific issue that can be resolved rather than just endless waiting!
