Stuck with 'Pending Issues' message for months - can't reach DEO agents at all

I applied for Florida unemployment on February 3rd, 2025 and it's been over 3 months with ZERO payments. Every two weeks I dutifully claim my weeks only to see that frustrating message: 'Pending Issue(s) have been identified on your Claim. Payment will be delayed until the pending issue(s) is resolved.' My CONNECT dashboard doesn't show WHAT the pending issues even are!! I've called the DEO number literally 40+ times - always get that automated voice and then it just disconnects me. Can't leave messages, can't talk to humans. My rent is now seriously behind and I'm about to lose my apartment. My former employer (restaurant that downsized) confirmed they aren't contesting anything. Has anyone actually managed to get through to a real person? What am I supposed to do when the system just ignores you completely?

I was in the same exact boat but finally got it resolved last week. The 'pending issues' message usually means you're stuck in adjudication but they don't tell you why. In my case, they needed additional employment verification even though I uploaded everything when I applied. You NEED to speak with an actual adjudicator, not just a regular DEO rep.

Thanks for responding! How did you actually reach an adjudicator? That's my whole problem - I can't get through to ANYONE at DEO, not even regular reps.

I've tried calling right when they open! Still just get the recording and disconnected. It's like they're deliberately making it impossible to reach them. 😠

After struggling for WEEKS with the exact same problem (pending issues, no explanation), I finally used a service called Claimyr that got me through to a DEO agent in about 20 minutes. They basically wait on hold for you then call you when an agent is on the line. Saved my sanity! Found out my claim needed additional income verification that was never requested in my CONNECT inbox. The agent fixed it on the spot, and I got paid within 3 days. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

Wow, never heard of that service before. Did they actually get you through to someone who could help with adjudication issues? That's what I need - someone who can actually see what's wrong with my claim and fix it.

The pending issues message is often related to one of several possible problems: 1. Employment verification issues (they need additional proof) 2. ID.me verification not completed or with errors 3. Employer dispute (even if your employer says they aren't contesting) 4. Work search requirement discrepancies 5. Previous overpayment issues You absolutely need to speak with an adjudicator. Try emailing RA.Adjudication@deo.myflorida.com with your claimant ID, last 4 of SSN, and a brief explanation. Include "URGENT: 3+ months no payment" in the subject line. While email responses can be slow, it sometimes works when calls don't.

Thank you for this detailed response! I'll definitely try the email address. I did complete my ID.me verification right away, and I've been documenting 5+ work searches each week as required. Really appreciate the guidance!

DEO IS THE WORST!!! Been dealing with them for years and they DELIBERATELY make it impossible to reach anyone. They WANT people to give up so they don't have to pay benefits. I've been hung up on, disconnected, and ignored so many times I lost count!!! The whole system is DESIGNED TO FAIL!!!

fr tho!! its like they train them to be useless on purpose lol

I managed to get my pending issues resolved after 2 months of nothing. For me, the secret was contacting my state representative's office. Their constituent services staff have direct contacts at DEO that regular people can't access. I called my rep's office, explained the situation, and they had a DEO supervisor call me back within 48 hours. Claim was fixed the next day. Might be worth trying if nothing else works!

That's a great idea I hadn't thought of! I'll look up my state rep's contact info today. Did you have to provide a lot of documentation to them when you called?

Just wanted to say I'm going through something similar right now. Filed in January, still nothing. It's so frustrating and scary. I've been selling stuff just to pay bills. Let me know if anything works for you.

I'm sorry you're going through this too. It's really dehumanizing. I'll definitely update here if I get through to anyone or find a solution that works.

UPDATE: I tried the Claimyr service that someone mentioned above, and IT WORKED! Got connected to a DEO agent in about 25 minutes. Turns out there was an employment verification issue because my previous employer's EIN number had a typo. The agent was able to fix it immediately and release my payments! They said I should see the money deposited within 3-5 business days. Such a relief after months of stress. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is facing similar issues.

Great to hear! That's exactly what happened with mine - a simple data entry error that could have been fixed in 5 minutes if they'd just told me about it or let me talk to someone. Glad you're getting your money finally!

My sister works for the state (not DEO) and she told me they're massively understaffed since they laid off all the pandemic workers. said there's literally hundreds of thousands of claims and like 50 people to process them all. system is broken from the inside

EXACTLY!! And Rick Scott deliberately designed the system to be broken when he was governor! They ADMITTED it was designed to fail and be hard to use! It's CRIMINAL what they do to unemployed people here!

I'm dealing with something very similar right now - filed in late January and still stuck on "pending issues" with no explanation. It's incredibly frustrating when you're trying to pay rent and bills but can't even find out what's wrong with your claim. Reading through these responses gives me some hope though. I'm going to try both the state representative route and that Claimyr service that helped @Asher Levin get through. Has anyone else had success with contacting their state rep's office? I'm in District 47 and wondering if some representatives are more responsive than others when it comes to DEO issues.

0 coins

I'm in District 52 and my rep's office was really helpful when I contacted them about a similar issue last year. They have dedicated staff who handle DEO problems specifically. I'd definitely recommend calling their constituent services line - they usually respond within 24-48 hours and have direct contacts at DEO that can actually look into your case. From what I've heard, most Florida reps deal with so many DEO complaints that they have streamlined processes for these issues now. Good luck with both approaches!

I'm so sorry you're going through this nightmare - the stress of not knowing what's wrong with your claim while bills pile up is absolutely devastating. I went through something similar last year and it turned out to be a simple address verification issue that took literally 2 minutes to fix once I finally got through to someone. The fact that they don't tell you what the pending issues are is just cruel. Based on what others have shared here, I'd definitely try multiple approaches: the Claimyr service seems to have worked for several people, contacting your state representative's office has a good success rate, and that adjudication email address might be worth a shot too. Don't give up - you're entitled to those benefits and there IS a solution, even though the system makes it nearly impossible to find. Keep us updated on what works!

Thank you so much for the encouragement and practical advice! It really helps to know I'm not alone in this struggle. The stress has been overwhelming - especially not knowing what's even wrong with my claim. I'm definitely going to try all the approaches mentioned here. Already looked up my state rep's contact info and bookmarked the Claimyr service. It's frustrating that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get basic information about our own claims, but I'm grateful this community exists to share solutions. Will definitely update everyone on what ends up working!

I'm going through this exact same situation right now - filed in early February and have been stuck with that maddening "pending issues" message for over two months. Like you, I can't even find out WHAT the issues are! The CONNECT system is absolutely useless for providing any actual information. Reading through all these responses has given me some real hope though. I'm definitely going to try the Claimyr service that helped @Asher Levin - 25 minutes to get through sounds like a miracle compared to the dozens of failed attempts I've made calling directly. Also planning to contact my state representative's office tomorrow since @Alana Willis had such success with that approach. It's honestly disgusting that we have to resort to paid services and political contacts just to access benefits we're legally entitled to. The system is clearly designed to exhaust people into giving up. But seeing that others have actually gotten through and resolved similar issues gives me motivation to keep fighting. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and solutions!

I'm so glad this thread exists because I was starting to think I was the only one dealing with this nightmare! Filed my claim in mid-February and have been getting that same "pending issues" runaround for weeks now. It's beyond frustrating when you're trying to keep a roof over your head and the system won't even tell you what's supposedly wrong with your application. I'm definitely going to try both the Claimyr service and contacting my state rep's office based on all the success stories here. It's absolutely ridiculous that we have to find workarounds just to access our own benefits, but I'm grateful people are sharing what actually works. The stress of not knowing if/when this will get resolved while bills keep coming is honestly affecting my mental health at this point. Thanks for posting - it helps knowing others are fighting the same battle!

I'm dealing with this exact nightmare right now too - filed in early March and it's been over a month of that infuriating "pending issues" message with zero explanation. The stress is unreal when you're watching your savings disappear and can't even find out what's supposedly wrong with your claim. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been both validating and helpful. It's clear this is a widespread problem with the Florida DEO system. I'm going to try multiple approaches based on what's worked for others: definitely calling my state representative's office first thing tomorrow, and if that doesn't work quickly, I'll try the Claimyr service that helped @Asher Levin get through. It's absolutely infuriating that we have to resort to paid services and political connections just to access benefits we've earned, but at this point I'm willing to try anything. The fact that they don't even tell you WHAT the pending issues are feels deliberately cruel. Thanks everyone for sharing your solutions - this community support means everything when the system is designed to make us feel helpless and alone.

I'm in the exact same boat - filed in late February and have been stuck with that "pending issues" message for over six weeks now. It's honestly devastating when you're trying to keep up with rent and utilities but can't even get basic information about your own claim. The lack of transparency is what makes this so much worse than just waiting - not knowing WHAT needs to be fixed or HOW LONG it might take is pure torture. I'm definitely going to try contacting my state rep's office first thing Monday morning based on @Alana Willis s'success story. If that doesn t'pan out quickly, the Claimyr service sounds like it s'been a lifesaver for multiple people here. It s'absolutely disgraceful that we have to jump through these hoops just to access our rightful benefits, but I m'so grateful this community exists to share actual solutions when the official system completely fails us. Hang in there - we ll'get through this!

I'm going through this exact same nightmare right now - been stuck with "pending issues" since I filed in mid-February and it's been absolutely devastating. Like so many others here, I can't even find out WHAT the issues are, which makes the whole situation feel hopeless. After reading through all these responses, I'm feeling more optimistic though. It's clear this is a systemic problem with Florida's DEO, not something wrong with our individual applications. I'm planning to try multiple approaches: first calling my state representative's office on Monday (sounds like @Alana Willis had great success with that), and if needed, using the Claimyr service that worked so well for @Asher Levin. It's absolutely unacceptable that we have to find workarounds just to access benefits we're legally entitled to, but I'm so grateful this community exists to share real solutions. The stress of not knowing if/when this will resolve while watching your savings disappear is honestly affecting every aspect of life. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it helps so much to know we're not alone in this fight against a broken system.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this too - the uncertainty is honestly the worst part! Not knowing what's wrong or how long it might take makes it impossible to plan anything. I filed around the same time as you and have been losing sleep over this whole mess. It's really encouraging to see how many people have actually gotten through using the methods shared here. I'm also planning to call my state rep's office first thing Monday - seems like that's been the most reliable approach based on what @Alana Willis and others have shared. The fact that we all have to become amateur detectives just to access our own benefits is ridiculous, but at least we re'figuring out what works together. Keep us posted on how it goes!

I'm so sorry you and everyone else here are going through this nightmare with DEO. I filed my claim back in January and went through the exact same "pending issues" hell for almost 3 months before finally getting it resolved. Reading through all these responses brings back the stress and frustration I felt during those months of uncertainty. What finally worked for me was a combination approach - I contacted my state representative's office AND used a callback service similar to Claimyr. The rep's office got me a callback within 48 hours, and it turned out my issue was something incredibly simple that could have been fixed immediately if they'd just told me what was wrong in the first place. For anyone still fighting this battle: don't give up, and definitely try multiple approaches simultaneously. The system is absolutely broken by design, but there ARE ways through it. Document everything, keep calling/emailing, and use every resource mentioned in this thread. You deserve those benefits and you WILL get them eventually, even though the process is deliberately made as difficult as possible. Hang in there everyone - this community support has been invaluable for so many people dealing with Florida's terrible unemployment system!

Three months feels like forever when you're living it, but knowing there's light at the end of the tunnel helps. I'm definitely going to try the combination approach you mentioned - hitting both the state rep's office and a callback service at the same time. It's honestly infuriating that these "incredibly simple" issues could be fixed in minutes if they just had basic transparency in their system, but at least we have this community sharing what actually works. Really appreciate you taking the time to encourage others who are still stuck in this mess!

Your story gives me so much hope! I'm currently on week 8 of the "pending issues" nightmare and was starting to think I'd never get through. I'm definitely going to try the combination approach you mentioned. Already have my state rep's contact info ready for Monday morning, and I'm looking into callback services too. It's ridiculous that we have to become experts in navigating bureaucratic workarounds just to get basic information about our own claims, but I'm grateful for communities like this that share what actually works. I'm so sorry you're going through this too - the "pending issues" limbo with zero explanation is absolutely maddening! I just went through something similar and finally got it resolved last month after 10 weeks of pure frustration. What worked for me was actually a combination of approaches: I contacted my state rep's office AND used a callback service at the same time. The rep's office got me a response within 2 days, and it turned out my issue was just a missing document that was never requested through the normal system. The whole thing could have been fixed in literally 2 minutes if they had just told me what they needed! Definitely try multiple approaches simultaneously - don't wait for one to fail before trying another. The system is broken by design, but there ARE ways through it. Document everything and don't give up - you've earned those benefits and you WILL get them! This community has been such a blessing for sharing what actually works when the official channels fail us completely.

I'm so sorry you're going through this nightmare - I know exactly how exhausting and demoralizing it is to be stuck in DEO limbo for months. I went through something very similar last year and it nearly broke me financially and emotionally. What finally worked for me was hitting them from multiple angles at once. I contacted my state representative's office (they have dedicated staff for DEO issues now because it's such a common problem), used a callback service to actually get through to an agent, AND sent that adjudication email that @Marina Hendrix mentioned. The combination approach seemed to create enough pressure that someone finally looked at my case. In my situation, it turned out to be a simple employer verification issue that literally took 3 minutes to fix once I got the right person on the phone. The agent told me it had been sitting in a queue for months because they were so understaffed. It's absolutely infuriating that these "pending issues" are often tiny administrative things that could be resolved immediately if they just told us what was wrong. Don't give up - you ARE entitled to those benefits and there IS a way through this broken system. Try everything simultaneously rather than waiting for one approach to fail. Document every call, email, and interaction. And keep us posted on what works - this community has become such a vital resource for navigating Florida's deliberately difficult unemployment system. Hang in there - you're going to get through this! 💪

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for the encouragement! It really helps to hear from someone who made it through this nightmare successfully. I'm definitely going to try the multi-pronged approach you described - hitting the state rep's office, a callback service, and that adjudication email all at the same time rather than waiting for one to fail before trying another. It's both infuriating and oddly comforting to know that these issues are often simple fixes that just get lost in their broken system. The fact that your case sat in a queue for months because of understaffing really highlights how deliberately underfunded this whole system is. I'm documenting everything and will definitely keep everyone posted on what works. This community has been such a lifeline when the official system completely abandons us. Thanks for the hope and practical advice - I really needed to hear that today! 💙
