DEO payment timeline when claiming on Wednesday instead of Monday?
Hey everyone, I'm a bit confused about the DEO payment schedule. I usually claim my weeks on Monday and see deposits hit my account on Tuesday. But this time, I need to claim on Wednesday (8.12) due to a work interview on Monday and doctor appointment Tuesday. Will I still get paid the next day (Thursday), or does the Wednesday claim take longer to process? Trying to plan my bills accordingly since my rent is due next week. Thanks for any help!

it depends on ur bank honestly. i claim on wednesday sometimes and my credit union usually posts it friday morning. the DEO still processes it the next day but some banks hold it longer than others

•That makes sense about the bank holding time. My bank is Wells Fargo - anyone know if they typically delay deposits from DEO?

The DEO payment processing follows the same timeline regardless of which day you claim. They typically process payments the next business day after you claim your weeks. However, when the money actually hits your account depends on your payment method and financial institution. If you're using direct deposit: - DEO processes payment on Thursday - Most banks take 1-2 business days to post the deposit - Some credit unions and online banks post same-day If you're using the Way2Go debit card: - Funds are typically available the same day DEO processes it Hope this helps with your planning!

•Thank you so much for breaking this down! I'm using direct deposit with Wells Fargo, so sounds like I should expect it Friday most likely. That still works with my rent deadline, phew!

In my experience the day you claim doesnt matter BUT sometimes the system glitches when u claim on weird days!! happened to me twice where I claimed on wed instead of my normal monday and my payment got stuck in pending for a week!! had to call DEO and everything. maybe I just had bad luck tho???

•I've claimed on different days plenty of times and never had this issue. Sounds like those might have been coincidental system issues or perhaps something with your specific claim type. The CONNECT system doesn't prioritize claims based on which day they're submitted - they're all processed in the same queue. If anyone does experience a delay though, Claimyr (claimyr.com) is great for getting through to a live agent quickly instead of calling for hours. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj showing how it works. I used it when my payment got stuck in adjudication and was able to speak with someone in about 20 minutes.

The CONNECT system processes ALL payments the next business day regardless of which day you claim!!! HOWEVER, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is NOTORIOUS for random glitches and delays!!! I've been on unemployment 3 times in the past 7 years and EVERY SINGLE TIME there's some random issue. One time claiming on Wednesday caused my work search audit to trigger (they randomly check those you know). Another time it was fine. Their system is UNPREDICTABLE at best!!

•omg yes the random work search audits are the worst!! happened to me last month and i swear it was because i claimed on a different day than usual

•It really does seem like everyone has slightly different experiences. I'll update the thread once I see when my payment arrives to add another data point.

Just to add some clarification - the payment process is: 1. You claim your weeks on CONNECT 2. DEO processes it the next business day (generates payment) 3. Your bank or Way2Go card then makes funds available So while DEO is pretty consistent with next-day processing, it's steps 2-3 where variations occur. If you claim Wednesday, they process Thursday, and your bank typically takes 1 day, you'd see it Friday. If your bank takes 2-3 days, it might be Monday. Good luck with your job interview, by the way! Hope it goes well.

•Thank you! The interview went well, but still waiting to hear back. Fingers crossed I won't need unemployment much longer. Really appreciate everyone's help in figuring out the payment schedule!

I've been claiming on different days for months now due to my work schedule and haven't noticed any difference in processing times. The DEO system processes claims the same way regardless of which day you submit. What matters more is your bank's processing time - some post deposits same day, others take 2-3 business days. Since you're with Wells Fargo and claiming Wednesday, you'll likely see it Friday or Monday at the latest. Don't stress too much about the timing change!

•That's really reassuring to hear from someone who's been doing this regularly! I was overthinking it because of some of the stories about glitches, but it sounds like most people don't have issues. Wells Fargo by Friday works perfectly for my timeline. Thanks for the peace of mind!

I've been claiming on Wednesdays for the past few months due to my work schedule and it's been totally fine! The DEO processes everything the next business day regardless of when you claim during the week. With Wells Fargo, I usually see my deposit hit on Friday when I claim Wednesday. The only time I had a delay was when there was a holiday that week and it pushed everything back a day. You should be good for your rent deadline - just make sure to claim before the cutoff time on Wednesday (I think it's like 11:59 PM but double check). Good luck with the interview!

•Thanks for sharing your Wednesday claiming experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who's been doing this consistently. The holiday delay is a good point I hadn't considered - luckily no holidays this week. I'll definitely make sure to claim before the cutoff time. Really appreciate everyone's input, feeling much more confident about the timing now!

I've been claiming on different days for years and honestly, the day doesn't matter much for processing speed. DEO processes next business day no matter what. The real variable is your bank - Wells Fargo usually takes 1-2 days to post unemployment deposits in my experience. So claiming Wednesday = processed Thursday = in your account Friday most likely. I wouldn't worry about system glitches from claiming on a different day - those are random and can happen any day of the week. As long as you claim before midnight Wednesday you're golden. Hope the job interview went well!

•Thanks Javier! That timeline matches what everyone else is saying - Wednesday claim, Thursday processing, Friday deposit with Wells Fargo. Really appreciate you confirming that the day doesn't affect processing speed. The interview did go well, thanks for asking! Still waiting to hear back but feeling optimistic. This community has been so helpful in easing my worries about the timing change.

I've been claiming on different days for over a year now due to my rotating work schedule, and I can confirm the day you claim doesn't affect DEO's processing timeline. They process all claims the next business day regardless. The key factor is your bank's posting schedule. With Wells Fargo specifically, I've noticed they typically post unemployment deposits on the second business day after DEO processes - so if you claim Wednesday, DEO processes Thursday, and you'll likely see it Saturday or Monday (depending on weekend processing). Some people get lucky with Friday deposits but I wouldn't count on it for bill planning. The system glitches people mention are usually unrelated to claiming day and more about random CONNECT issues. You should be fine for your rent deadline!

•Thanks for the detailed breakdown Nalani! Your experience with Wells Fargo is super helpful - I was hoping for Friday but you're right that Saturday/Monday is more realistic for planning purposes. Either way works for my rent deadline so I'm not stressed about it anymore. It's reassuring to hear from someone who's been doing rotating claim days for over a year without issues. Definitely puts the glitch stories in perspective - sounds like they're just random CONNECT problems that can happen anytime, not related to which day you claim.
