DEO not issuing claim payment - need advice for calling
Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my unemployment claim payment not being issued. I filed my claim a while back but haven't received any payments yet. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should say when I call the DEO to get this sorted out?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been there too. Here's what worked for me when I called: 1. Be polite but firm 2. Have all your info ready (claim number, dates, etc.) 3. Ask them to check for any flags or issues on your account 4. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor 5. Keep a record of who you talked to and when Good luck! The system is a mess, but don't give up.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure to call early in the morning if you can. Lines get crazy later in the day.

•Yep, totally agree. I called at 7:59 AM once and got through in 10 minutes. It was like winning the lottery lol

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep. Is it really worth it?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it to actually talk to a human and get my issue resolved.

•I tried it too. Can confirm it works. Beats sitting on hold for 3 hours straight 🙌

•3 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

Pro tip: if you get through to someone and they say they cant help, dont hang up! Ask to be transfered to a tier 2 agent. They have more authority to fix issues.

Anyone else notice that the DEO website is always "under maintenance" when you need it most? 🤔 It's like they're trying to make this as difficult as possible.

•Omg yes! I swear they do it on purpose to reduce claims or something

Hey OP, when exactly did you file your claim? There was a glitch in the system about a month ago that caused some claims to get stuck. Might be worth mentioning that when you call.

•I filed about 6 weeks ago. Thanks for the heads up about the glitch, I'll definitely bring that up!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to the office in person if you can? I know its a pain, but I got my issue resolved in one day by showing up. Just bring a book and be prepared to wait.

•Wait, you can do that? I thought everything was online/phone only now

•Some offices are open for limited in-person services. Check the DEO website for locations near you. It's not advertised much, but it's an option.
